Happy Tuesday everyone! Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday which is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is a Halloween Freebie, so I'm featuring ten of the best horror books I've read since this time last year. Without further ado, here we go in alphabetical order by title:
Blackout (Newsflesh #3) by Mira Grant
Bury Your Gays by Chuck Tingle
Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman
The September House by Carissa Orlando
The Spirit Bares Its Teeth by Andrew Joseph White
This Wretched Valley by Jenny Kiefer
We Shall Be Monsters (We Shall Be Monsters #1) by Tara Sim
Have you read any of these books? What are your recent favorite horror stories? As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

Some of these look a bit too creepy for me to read at night!

Yeah, some of them are definitely that way!
DeleteWow, these sound good! I will have to check a few of the books out.
ReplyDeleteI hope you find some you love!
DeleteGreat idea for a list! You know how I feel about The September House, and I loved Incidents Around the House as well:-)
ReplyDeleteOh yes! 😊
DeleteThese all look wonderfully scary!
ReplyDeleteThat they are!
DeleteI love The Spirit Bares Its Teeth by AJW! Here is my post https://paigesofnovels.wordpress.com/2025/10/28/top-seven-ten-tuesday-halloween-costumes/
ReplyDeleteIt was brilliant. Thanks for sharing!
DeleteNice. Here is my TTT.https://dmhoisington.wordpress.com/2025/10/28/top-ten-tuesday-7/
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
DeleteI tend to stay away from horror books. The closest I've gotten is Wild of Empire by Cherie Dimaline.

I haven't read that one but I like Dimaline so I'll have to look that one up.
DeleteGreat list!
ReplyDeleteI've read several of these and Bury Your Gays by Chuck Tingle is the craziest horror story I've read.
Yeah, it was pretty crazy!
DeleteNice List!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI think we have very different tastes in books haha, I've read 4 of these and the only one I liked is This Wretched Valley. I found the others to be too slow. I'm not a huge slow burner reader, I get bored lol.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a spooky week and a Happy Halloween! 🎃💀👻

I can see that! Also, I'm glad you liked This Wretched Valley. Right now I'm reading, Kiefer's newest with Crafting for Sinners. 😊
DeleteThese definitely seem creepy! Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteFor sure!
DeleteI'm always tempted by Darcy Coates' books, but I've never actually read one. I only like Horror Lite (spooky, but not terrifying) so I don't know if hers would be too much for me or not...
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT and Happy Halloween!
Some of hers do get pretty intense, but they are addictive!
DeleteI've seen a lot of people rave about Darcy Coates! I really need to try some.
ReplyDeleteYes, she's become one of my favorites!
DeleteOooh, the Newsflesh books!! I loved them so much... I need to do a reread!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I found them!
