Top Ten Tuesday: Quotes From The Best Books I Read In 2025

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday which is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.  This week's topic is Quotes From/ About Books, and I'm going to specifically feature Quotes From The Best Books I Read In 2025.  The books I'm featuring are the books featured on my January 6th TTT list. Without further ado, here we go in alphabetical order by title:

A Drop of Corruption (Shadow of the Leviathan #2) by Robert Jackson Bennett

“It is good to place oneself before the vast expanse of this world," said Ana. "The ocean cannot tell the difference between a rich man and a poor one, nor one full of happiness, nor despair. To those waves, all are so terribly small.”

His Majesty's Dragon (Temeraire #1) by Naomi Novik

“Temeraire said, 'It is very nice how many books there are, indeed. And on so many subjects!”

Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman

“The older I get, the more I think the barometer for intelligence is how kind you are. Because it’s not an easy thing to do, staying mindful, after all you go through in life.”

James by Percival Everett

“At that moment the power of reading made itself clear and real to me. If I could see the words, then no one could control them or what I got from them. They couldn’t even know if I was merely seeing them or reading them, sounding them out or comprehending them. It was a completely private affair and completely free and, therefore, completely subversive.”

Les Normaux (Les Normaux #1) by Janine Janssen and S. Al Sabado

The September House by Carissa Orlando

“What I think is so neat about horror movies,” I said, “is that they shine a light on what we think is scary. Not just ghosts and demons, but what we find really scary.”

“You were capable of imagining a different future. And maybe it won’t be realized today, maybe not in our lifetime. Maybe it will take generations. We’re all part of a continuum. Does that make it pointless?”

Thronebreakers (Crownchasers #2) by Rebecca Coffindaffer

“I wanted to give you space to grow and breathe and explore until your fire burned so big, so intense, so fierce that nothing could smother it. And that is one decision I will never regret. You burn as bright as a new star, Alyssa. And soon the whole universe will truly see it.”

Voices in the Snow (Black Winter #1) by Darcy Coates

“The house, despite being caked in opulence, felt hostile, as though she were unworthy of staying in it. As if it barely tolerated her. The judgement seeped out of the walls and rose through the floorboards. It bled resentment.”

What are some of your favorite quotes?  Have you read any of these books?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

  7. The quote about kindness the older you get is so true. There are times we get jaded by things, and can't feel compassion for others. And then there are times that we look beyond the internal barriers and do what we can for others.
