Happy Tuesday everyone! Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday which is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is Things That Make Up My Perfect Day, but I decided to do something different. In honor of Halloween, I thought I feature some of my Recent Favorite Horror Movies & TV Shows. Without further ado, here we go alphabetical order by title:
Movies:
Frailty - I went into this one blind and I wasn't expecting it to go where it did at all, but I loved it. It really made me miss Bill Paxton.
Hokum - I really like the director Damian McCarthy's style and I'm so glad I had the chance to see this one on the big screen. It's very intense and certainly atmospheric. I can't wait to see what he does next. Plus, I also enjoy seeing Adam Scott in genre stuff.
I Saw the TV Glow - This is a slower paced movie, but I was absolutely hooked. I know I would watch The Pink Opaque.
Night of the Demon - I watched this 1957 movie courtesy of Svengoolie and the atmosphere is absolutely perfect. It would also be an understatement to say that the ending is something else.
Resident Evil - I was really surprised that this is now my favorite movie from this franchise. Bryan really was having the worst time!
TV Shows:
IT: Welcome to Derry - I had absolutely no expectations for the first season of this series even though I like the movies and the original novel, but I was invested in this and I'm looking forward to seeing more in the future.
Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen - I went into this limited series pretty much blind, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I definitely wasn't expecting it to go the direction it did, but I loved the way it ended.
Yellowjackets - So far I've only watched the first season, but now I totally get the hype with this one. I can't wait to catch up on the rest of it!
The Vampire Lestat - I loved the first two seasons of Interview with the Vampire, but this third season/ miniseries took the cake for me. Lestat makes for quite the entertaining narrator, and the sense of humor in this season definitely worked for me. Luckily, Sam Reid has a great singing voice too. I'd buy the album, for sure!
What are some of your favorite horror (or horror adjacent) tv shows and movies? Have you watched any of these? As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

I’m not big on horror but I do want to try Interview with a Vampire.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your #TTT
I hope you enjoy it!
DeleteInteresting. I can't watch horror. I've dabbled in things like The Others and the Final Destination films, obviously there is ET. I refuse to acknowledge that that is a family friendly film. That alien is scary!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!

ReplyDeleteYes! I hope you like Hokum.
DeleteI had the exact same experience with Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen. I was *SO* sure I knew the trope we were doing from the very start and I was completely wrong lol
ReplyDeleteRight!
DeleteDead Talentless Society sounds intriguing. Does it kind of have a quirky tone? I’m mildly curious about Jellowjackets but worried it might be too scary for me..but the vibe of that poster looks hella cool!
ReplyDeleteYes, Dead Talents Society is definitely a horror comedy. Finally it reminds me of Beetlejuice. 😁
