SciFi Month 2025 - Announcement & Potential TBR

Happy Friday everyone and welcome to SciFi Month 2025!  SciFi Month is a month long celebration of all things sci-fi and it's hosted by Lisa @ Dear Geek Place, Imyril @ There's Always Room For One More, Annemieke @ A Dance With Books, and Mayri @ Book Forager.  You can also find it on Bluesky here and follow along with #SciFiMonth2025.  This year will be my 9th year participating!  (Image credit: Artwork by Yuriy Nedopekin This month I'll still be doing my regular posts, but some like Music Monday, Top Ten Tuesday, Books From The Backlog, and The Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings) will have a sci-fi twist.  Also, be on the look out for sci-fi movie and tv reviews and a few other special things I've got planned. Who knows if I'll be able to get to many of these books, but I'll do my best, so read on for my potential sci-fi tbr for the coming month:

Books I Own:

The Adjustment (The Program #5) by Suzanne Young - I can't believe I'll only have one book in this YA dystopian series after this one.  I'm also reading this for my Spell It Out Reading Challenge 2025.

Behind Yesterday (A Thomas Watson Mystery #1) by Richard D. Taylor - I just recently picked up both books in this series at a local thrift store. The paperback editions I have completely different covers than the ones featured on Goodreads.  Anyway, it sounds like it has potential - a history professor from 1998 ends up in 1940 London during the Battle of Britain.

Extra Time (Doctor Who: Eleventh Doctor Adventures #10) by Richard Dungworth - I'm not really a sports person, but I do love this TARDIS Team!

The Forge of God (Forge of God #1) by Greg Bear - I've been meaning to read this for far too long and this is the perfect time to get to it.

Ganymede (The Clockwork Century #3) by Cherie Priest - I've been meaning to jump back into this steampunk series and I recently found this at a thrift shop.

Peacemaker (Doctor Who: New Series Adventures #21) by James Swallow - The Tenth Doctor is my favorite and I love Martha.  It will be fun to see a Western element in this one.

The Pirate Loop (Doctor Who: New Series Adventures #20) by Simon Guerrier - Like I saidDavid Tennant's 10th Doctor is my favorite and Martha is one of my favorite companions.  I haven't read enough of the books featuring her character, so I'm changing that this month.

Red Moon by Kim Stanley Robinson - I've seen a lot of mixed reviews for this and I've never tried the author before, but he's been recommended to me several times so I thought I'd give this a try this month.

Silhouette (Peacer #1) by Dave Swallow - I like cyberpunk and this is compared to both Blade Runner and Minority Report.  I've seen a lot of mixed reviews for this, but that sounds like a tempting comparison even if it is a tall order.

Library Books:

Cibola Burn (The Expanse #4) by James S.A. Corey - I'm making my way through this excellent series slowly but surely!  Hopefully my Libby hold will come in on it soon.

Cyctonic (Skyward #3) by Brandon Sanderson - I really loved the first two books in the series, so I have high expectations for this one!

Exit Strategy (The Murderbot Diaries #4) by Martha Wells - This will be my first installment back since I watched season one of the tv series adaptation (which I absolutely loved!), so this will be fun.

Extremity by Nicholas Binge - I'm on hold for the audiobook of this novella on Libby.  I think it sounds right up my alley.

Feedback (Newsflesh #4) by Mira Grant - I've really this series and I can't wait to read the finale!

The Great Destroyers by Caroline Tung Richmond - I've been eyeing this YA alternate history at the library for awhile now.  It's described as a combination of The Hunger Games and Pacific Rim set during the 1960s Cold War.  I don't know about you, but it sounds really tempting!

The Memory Index (Memory Index #1) by Julian C. Vaca - This sounds like an intriguing YA alternate history set in 1987.  I've been eyeing at my library for some time now.

On Basilisk Station (Honor Harrington #1) by David Weber - I've noticed that this series is extremely popular at my library, so I'm going to give it a try.  It does sound like it could be good!

Snowglobe 2 (The Snowglobe Duology #2) by Soyoung Park - The first book in this YA sci-fi dystopian duology was really unique and I can't wait to see where this one goes.

Sunrise on the Reaping (The Hunger Games #0.5) by Suzanne Collins - I've been on hold for the audiobook on Libby for ages.  It would be perfect if the hold comes in this month!

Thronebreakers (Crownchasers #1) by Rebecca Coffindaffer - I absolutely loved the first book in this series and I can't wait to try the finale of this duology.

Titan of the Stars (Titan of the Stars #1) by E.K. Johnston - I've been eyeing this one at the library.  It's described as Titanic meets Aliens and that sounds like a cool combination to me.

Are you participating in SciFi Month this year?  Have you read any of these books?  Which one should I read first?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
