Happy Tuesday everyone! Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday which is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. In honor of SciFi Month 2025, a celebration of all things sci-fi and it's hosted by Lisa @ Dear Geek Place, Imyril @ There's Always Room For One More, Annemieke @ A Dance With Books, and Mayri @ Book Forager (Image credit: Artwork by Yuriy Nedopekin), all of my Top Ten Tuesday posts will be sci-fi themed. This week's topic is Modern Books You Think Will Be Classics In The Future and this month's prompt challenge which puts a sci-fi spin on it. Today's is Future Classics and the ten books I'm featuring will all be considered classics in the future (if they aren't already). Without further ado, here we go in alphabetical order by title:
The Fifth Season (The Broken Earth #1) by N.K. Jemisin
Illuminae (The Illuminae Files #1) by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
Leviathan Wakes (The Expanse #1) by James S.A. Corey
A Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet (Wayfarers #1) by Becky Chambers
Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir
Red Rising (Red Rising Saga #1) by Pierce Brown
Skyward (Skyward #1) by Brandon Sanderson
Vicious (Villains #1) by V.E. Schwab
Are you participating in SciFi Month 2025? Have you read any of these books? What are some of your favorite books that are primarily one color? As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

I've not read these. They look interesting. I've only read one Stephen King and I keep saying that I need to read more!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!

Stephen King is one of my favorites and 11/22/63 is one of my favorites of his. :)
DeleteI appreciate that you made your choices from one genre, a genre I don't often read. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting, Anne!
DeleteA good way to incorporate the two themes for this month.

Thanks!
DeleteI totally agree with you on Project Hail Mary! I can’t wait for the film version this spring.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for it too!
DeleteProject Hail Mary is honestly such a great pick!

Yes!
DeleteI've heard SUCH good things about The Expance books and The 5th Season, but they both intimidate me lol
ReplyDeleteThey're definitely worth trying. :)
DeleteSo happy to see so much SciFi as future classics - and I so agree!
ReplyDeleteOne that I have been meaning to read, but have yet to get to, is Dark Matter.
It's awesome, Rebecca!
DeleteWhat a fantastic sci-fi list! I completely agree that *Project Hail Mary* is a future classic. Happy SciFi Month!
ReplyDeleteHappy SciFi Month, Teresa!
DeleteWhile I haven't read any of these, I have heard good things about the majority of them.

Thanks for coming over, Pam!
DeleteI love that you gave this topic a sci-fi spin! I really want to read The Fifth Season and A Long Way to An Angry Planet. I would honestly not be surprised if Becky Chambers books are considered future sci-fi classics!

All of her books really! :)
DeleteAlways thrilled to see PHM on a top ten list!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a huge sci-fi reader, so I was surprised to actually find some books I do know on your list. I still have to continue The Broken Earth trilogy, I only read the first book years ago but never continued. Probably due to me not being as big on sci-fi.
ReplyDeleteLove your choices! 11/26/63, Dark Matter, Project Hail Mary and The Fifth Season are all favorites😁
ReplyDeleteI've heard of several of these, but never read any! Still, given the hype and enjoyment readers find in them, I'm sure some of these could be someday classics. :) Thanks so much for visiting my list!
ReplyDeleteHi Lauren, I have not read any of these, but my husband and son loved Project Hail Mary and they love Brandon Sanderson. Thank you for the Christmas card, I got it today!! Yours is the first one I have received from #TBTBSanta, and this is my first year participating as well. My daughter went to college in Mount Vernon, so we are familiar with that area :) Thanks again!
