These are the rules:
1. Grab a book, any book.
2. Turn to page 56, or 56% on your eReader.
3. Find any sentence (or a few, just don't spoil it) that grabs you.
4. Post it.
5. Add the URL to your post in the link on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post.
This week I'm spotlighting Rainbow Rowell's newest novel Landline. I was so happy when this finally came back in for me at the library! The only other novel I've read by Rowell is Fangirl and I was pretty impressed by it. Let's hope this is just as good!
Georgie wrote the horoscopes. (In character, sort of. It was hard to explain.) Neal knew she wrote the horoscopes. He knew her name. His hands were small, and they moved with complete surety across the paper, leaving a thick, straight line.
I feel like the universe is telling me to read Rainbow Rowell. I don't quite have the right motivation right now since I don't read too many contemporary books, but every once in a while it's good to read out of your comfort zone.
ReplyDeleteI usually don't either, but if I do sometimes I can find some interesting titles that I normally wouldn't even consider. :)
DeleteYes. I'm reading Gone Girl which I wouldn't normally and am really enjoying it.
DeleteI've seen the book around and heard good things about it. I hope you enjoy the story.
ReplyDeleteMy Friday post features FINDING SOUTHERN COMFORT.
Thanks - I hope so, too!
DeleteI have Landline on my shelf and I still need to read it! I did read Attachments though and Fangirl and loved both of them. I'm intrigued by the Landline premise so I will definitely put it on my reading list for this year! [http://goo.gl/NsPZAM] Katie @ Bookish Illuminations
ReplyDeleteIt's good so far! I definitely want to read everything this author has written. :)
DeleteHhmmm, this F56 is very intriguing! I still haven't read anything by Rainbow Rowell although I really want to. I think I should probably start on 'Fangirl', since that is a title that pretty much fits me to a tee! Thanks for sharing :) I hope you enjoy your weekend!

DeleteThis isn't a hard sell. I just finished Attachments and loved it. Also Eleanor & Park was amazing. Usually, I don't read too many standalones, but I will read all of Rainbow's books. She's such an amazing writer; I love her POV.
ReplyDeleteI need to read Attachments and Eleanor & Park! :) She's fantastic.
