Top Ten Tuesday: Characters Who Are Fellow Book Nerds

Happy Tuesday!  The theme for this week's Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, is Characters Who Are Fellow Book Nerds.  I must admit that I'm very excited to see this topic crop up.  Here are some of my favorites, in no particular order:

Matilda Wormwood - Matilda by Roald Dahl

Hermione Granger - Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling

Cath Avery - Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

Jo March - Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

Liesel Meminger - The Book Thief by Marcus Zusack

Rhett Carter - Brew by David Estes

Klaus Baudelaire - A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket

Catherine Morland - Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen

Isaac Vanio - Libriomancer by Jim C. Hines

Katy Swartz - Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout - I'm currently reading this one and I'm pleasantly surprised to see she's a book blogger!

So, what do you think of my list this week?  Do we share any books or characters?  Any and all comments are appreciated!

  1. OK. I think our lists are at least 50% the same. Good job. I thought everyone would have the same characters on their lists this week so I am happy when I find new characters I didn't know about.

  3. When I came across Katy's character, I instantly fell in love with her. There are many book nerd characters out there, but I don't think any of them go quite to the same extent as Katy and her book bloggingness!

  4. I have Hermione, Matilda and Liesel too! I think it's definitely impossible to leave out Hermione this week.

  5. Ahhh, I completely forgot about Katy! I've got Matilda and Hermione though--both of which I'm noticing are quite common on this week's lists (not that I'm surprised!)

  6. I included your top three on my list as well :) I really should've thought of Classic books more because there are lots of good characters to choose from there! Great list :)

Here’s my list if you want to have a look :)

  9. Klaus is a great choice and I haven't seen him on many lists today. I'm glad you and I thought of him though! And Hermione will always be bookworm number 1 in my heart! Great list.

Thanks for stopping by my TTT.

  10. You have some great choices here! It's a nice mix of classics and modern books, too. No book nerd list can ever be complete without Hermione!!

  12. I haven't read A Series of Unfortunate Events or The Book Thief yet, but I know I'm going to love those two characters when I finally do. Great list!

  13. Catherine and Jo March. Two favorites; they're sort of similar in many ways, only Catherine is more innocent than Jo's more "forceful" personality.

Great list - and thanks so much for visiting Dreaming Under the Same Moon.

  18. Yay for Hermione, Matilda, and Jo March. Three of my very favorite fictional bookworms. I've yet to read OBSIDIAN, but I've seen it on a number of lists today. I think I need to read it ASAP.

    Happy TTT!

  19. I didn't participate in TTT this week, because I couldn't think of any bookish characters other than Hermione and Cealeana =P BUT, I forgot about Katy from Obsidian (which I just read last month!) I, too, loved that she was a blogger -- I can't wait to continue on with the series!
