On Friday's I take part in three weekly link ups - The Friday 56, hosted by Freda's Voice, Book Beginnings, hosted by Rose City Reader, and 50/50 Friday is a new weekly link up and it is hosted by Carrie @ The Butterfly Reader and Laura @ Blue Eye Books. For The Friday 56, you choose a book, a book you have just finished, a book you are about to start, your current read, and share a line or a few lines that grab you (but don't spoil anything) from page 56 or 56% of the way through the ebook. Post it and share your post's url on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post. As for Book Beginnings, you share the first sentence or so and your initial thoughts, impressions, or whatever else it inspires, and then link up your post's url with Rose City Reader. Then, for 50/50 Friday, every week there's a new topic featuring two sides of the same coin - you share a book that suits each category and link up on the hosts blogs.
My silence thunders. I stand on the bridge of my starship, arm broken and held in a gelcast, ion burns still raw on my neck. I'm bloodydamn tired.
56:
"You have a weird sense of humor."
"I know. But I'm so glad you get my jokes. So many prickly Peerless these days. Duels! Honor! Blood! All because they're bored. There's no one left to fight. So gorydamn tedious."
50/50 Friday: Favorite/ Least Favorite Title
Favorite - The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky - This was a difficult choice, but this is one of my favorite reads and I love the cover - I don't know about you but I can relate.
Least favorite - Old Tractors and the Men Who Love Them: How to Keep Your Tractors Happy and Your Family Running by Roger Welsch - I've actually seen this book come across desk at my rural library. I can't say if it's actually a decent read or not, but every single time I've seen it (and the author's other books) I can't help but cringe.
What are you reading this weekend? Have you tried any of these books? As usual, thanks very much for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
I still have yet to read Red Rising! D: And I really love The Perks of Being a Wallflower as a title too. ♥ (I loved the movie much more than I did the book though!)
ReplyDelete- Aimee @ Aimee, Always
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I appreciated the Perks adaptation. Thanks for coming over, Aimee.
DeleteI have a copy of Red Rising but haven't read it yet. I'm glad to see that you liked it.
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll like it wen you get there - I'd love to know what you think of it, Breana. :)
DeleteOMG I'm laughing so hard at the tractor book! Is this for real??
ReplyDeleteI can assure you it is... :D
Deleteoh, gorydamn! I love that word. Sounds like a fab book!!
ReplyDeleteHere is mine this week: http://bit.ly/Fri56Tooth
Have a lovely weekend! x
Wonderful! Thanks for sharing, Sassy!
DeleteForgot to mention, the tractor book... hahaha! I love how he looks so proud!!! That's one happy bunny, if eer I've seen one lol
ReplyDeleteFor sure!
DeleteI still need to read Red Rising! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Freda! I hope you'll like it when you get to it. :)
DeleteOld Tractors and the Men Who Love Them: How to Keep Your Tractors Happy and Your Family Running.... that is completely worthy of cringing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up!
I thought so! :D
DeleteThanks for coming over!
That Pierce Brown series has been tempting me for years! I need to start reading it!
ReplyDeleteYou really, really should Katherine. :)
DeleteI still have to read Red Rising. You have made me eager to start the series. This week I have a book that has been on TBR mountain way too long - A Rumor of Bones by Beverly Connor. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely worth the time. :)
DeleteOoh I like that beginning (and the 56 too actually). Still haven't read those books. :(
ReplyDeleteOld Tractors cracks me up. Seriously??
Seriously.
DeleteThat tractors book looks like nothing I've ever read before. The guy on the cover is so smug - then I guess he would be if his tractors are happy!
ReplyDeleteMakes sense huh!: D
DeleteRed Rising is one I've been wanting to read for awhile now. Golden Son sounds good too!
ReplyDeleteI didn't participate in this week's 50/50, but I did look up some pretty bad titled books. The one you shared is pretty bad. Haha. I think my favorite is The Moon is a Harsh Mistress although I really like the title Something Wicked This Way Comes.
Both of those are good - I was so close to using Something Wicked for my own. :)
DeleteOh my gosh! I still need to read the first book in the Red Rising series! I'm so behind!
ReplyDeleteIt's so cool! I'm glad my challenge is giving me the excuse I've needed to try it out. :)
DeleteHope you'll continue to enjoy the series.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nicki!
DeleteI actually think the Tractor book's title sounds so cute haha
ReplyDeleteI guess it isn't that terrible! ;)
DeleteI also love Perks' title! It's all in the use of 'Wallflower' :) I just love those words that people don't really use but they sound so amazing. Thanks for linking up, Lauren!
