Sword in the Stars (Once & Future #2) by Amy Rose Capetta and Cori McCarthy (ARC) - Review

❋  ❋  ❋  ❋ I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I'm so glad I decided to stick with the Once & Future duology from Amy Rose Capetta and Cori McCarthy because it just gets better from where it left off. While the first book was a fun adventure, it didn't quite blow me away like I was hoping it would but Sword in the Stars picks up the slack. It's so much fun and quite a unique retelling at that. The characters have grown quite a bit throughout the course of the story and series. The pacing has also pretty drastically improved from book one, or at least it worked for me more in this case. I particularly loved that we got to see the medieval King Arthur and Camelot and how Merlin, Ari and company interact with them and their world. Plus, there's a heist - a time heist. I knew this was going to go well with that opening quote from Monty Python and the Holy Grail . If you enjoy that classic comedy along with the tv series Merlin , t...

Happy Monday everyone!  This week I'm spotlighting only one song - The Man by Taylor Swift .  Her music isn't normally quite my style, but I really like the sound of this one.  Plus, that music video is really impressive.  You need to watch all the way to the end to see her transformation.  I almost didn't realize that was her for a ...

Magical Readathon O.W.L.S. 2020 - Announcement & TBR

It's official! This year I'm taking the plunge and taking part in the Magical Readathon , hosted by G. @ Book Roast.  It looked like a lot of fun last year, but unfortunately I missed out.  Anyway, this year's O.W.L.S. run the entire month of April and I've decided to follow the Magizoologist career path in honor of one of my favorite characters, Newt Scamander.  It requires four O.W.L.S. - Care of Magical Creatures, Charms, Herbology, and Potions.  I'm also going to take part in the bonus course of learning to operate locomotive trains which requires two O.W.L.S. - Defense Against the Dark Arts and Muggle Studies - because who doesn't love the Hogwarts Express.  Without further ado, here is my TBR for this readathon: Care of Magical Creatures - Hippogriffs: Creature with a beak on the cover My choice - Godblind ( Godblind #1) by Anna Stephens - I just happened to discover this at Ollie's Bargain Outlet (they always have an interesting selectio...

I was thrilled to have been approved to have the chance to read this early for review since I've loved both previous installments. Needless to say, my expectations were sky high and luckily for me I loved every second of this too. I don't know how Estep does it, but this series just keeps getting better. It's great to be back in this world and see Everleigh and Sullivan again. ...

Happy Monday everyone!  This week I'm spotlighting a couple of my all time favorite Donald O'Connor dances.  I love Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire, but Donald O'Connor is so underrated.  He was a brilliant dancer and it's always a treat to see him in action.  My two favorites from him (not counting his work in Singin' in the Rain )...
