Happy Friday everyone! Today I'm sharing my my third update for my March progress for the year long reading challenge called The 52 Book Club's 2026 Reading Challenge. You can see my original tbr here. In March, I completed 6 books for a total of 22 read so far out of 52 total books on my tbr. I think I made more great progress in the challenge. Keep reading to see my thoughts on the books I read in March:
21. Written in the 1800s
❋ ❋ ❋
Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne is a classic that's been on my radar forever and I've seen adaptations of it before as well. It's good to have finally read the source material to see where it all started. I wouldn't call it a favorite (for Jules Verne stories that honor still goes to Around the World in 80 Days) but it's still a fun adventure.
My review is also on Goodreads and The StoryGraph.
25. Includes a red herring
❋ ❋ ❋ ❋
And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie has been on my tbr for ages. I've seen several different adaptation of it (my favorite is the 1945 movie), so I knew something about what to expect from this story. That said it was really special reading the source material and I appreciate how the adaptations I've seen all change things up just a little bit to add a bit more mystery and a fun surprise for readers.
My review is also on Goodreads and The StoryGraph.
51. Includes a map
❋ ❋ ❋ ❋
The Throne of Glass series is one of my favorites, but I don't think I really needed The Assassin's Blade (Throne of Glass #0.1-0.5) by Sarah J. Maas which is acollection of five prequel novellas. It was good to see Celaena again, and Sam too, and to visit their world again. I did appreciate how the final story The Assassin and the Empire leaves us right where the first novel begins.
My review is also on Goodreads and The StoryGraph.
31. Author related to author in prompt 30
❋ ❋ ❋ ❋
I know I jumped way ahead in the overall series, but I really liked Spider Woman's Daughter (Leaphorn & Chee #19) by Anne Hillerman. The narrator did a great job. It was odd hearing them talk about cell phones and computers though. I need to keep going with this series to find out what happens in the meantime.
My review is also on Goodreads and The StoryGraph.
35. Character with a secret identity
❋ ❋ ❋ ❋
Ruthless Vows (Letters of Enchantment #2) by Rebecca Ross is a great sequel and finale. I would like more fantasy novels set in a 1920s-1940s inspired worlds, please and thank you. Romance is never a favorite but I still like the getting to know the characters even more. I think I'll have to try more from this author in the future.
My review is also on Goodreads and The StoryGraph.
17. Author's bio mentions their dog
❋ ❋
I really enjoyed the original series, but Sinner (The Wolves of Mercy Falls #4) by Maggie Stiefvater, the companion novel was unnecessary for me. Cole was better and had grown, but Isabel was so irritating this time around. I'll just stick with Sam and Grace.
My review is also on Goodreads and The StoryGraph.
