The 52 Book Club's 2026 Reading Challenge - April Update

Happy Thursday everyone! Today I'm sharing my my fourth update for my April progress for the year long reading challenge called The 52 Book Club's 2026 Reading Challenge.  You can see my original tbr here.  In April, I completed 3 books for a total of 25 read so far out of 52 total books on my tbr.  More excellent progress!  Keep reading to see my thoughts on the books I read in April:

19. A nosy neighbor character

 ❋ ❋
The Murder of Roger Ackroyd (Hercule Poirot #4) by Agatha Christie is a novel I've heard a lot about over the years.  I've been on a bit of an Agatha Christie quick lately - both the novels and with adaptations - so I'm glad I've had the chance to try this one as well.  I see why it's considered a classic Poirot story.  What an ending!

My review is also on Goodreads and The StoryGraph.

48. Related to the word "Nemesis"

Nemesis (Project Nemesis #1) by Brendan Reichs was on my tbr for ages.  I'm glad I finally checked it off my tbr, but I didn't quite get the appeal of this.  It sounded good and starts of pretty decently, but as it went on it lost me.  It's too long so it drags in the middle and the characters just weren't there for me either.  I won't be back for the sequel.

My review is also on Goodreads and The StoryGraph.

20. Day of the week in the title

Mister Monday (The Keys to the Kingdom #1) by Garth Nix is an MG/ YA fantasy series opener I really wanted to like.  Unfortunately, I couldn't get into this although I did stick with it to the end.  I might have preferred this in print over the audiobook edition, though, but I'm not interested enough to go back and try it that way now.  I've  listened to other books with Allan Corduner as the narrator before and liked the style, but his voice didn't work for me at all here.

My review is also on Goodreads and The StoryGraph.

Are you participating in this challenge?  Have you read any of these books?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
