Music Monday: TG Lurgan Songs In Gaeilge

Happy Monday everyone and welcome back to Music Monday! Let's share some songs we've been enjoying lately!  If you would like to play and I really hope you do, please see the rules and link up below.

Rules:

Every Monday share one or two of songs you've been enjoying lately.  It doesn't have to be a specific genre, new, or one of your favorites - just something you'd like to share with others.  If possible, share a music or lyric video of the song and your thoughts on the song(s), artist(s), and/or music video(s).

If you would like to participate in Music Monday, please join the link up by sharing your post's url.

Have you ever listened to TG Lurgan's songs in Irish?  The school teaches the language and they put on voluntary performances of English pop songs in Irish.  It's amazing to songs I know so well in such a beautiful language.  The first song I've shared is their 2013 cover of "Wake Me Up" by Avicii, and it feautres Stiofán Ó Fearail from the Irish language band Seo Linn.  This is probably the school's most well-known performance - and they do a fantastic job.  Plus, it looks like they had a lot of fun.  The second song I'm sharing today is the school's excellent performance of "Royals" by Lorde from 2014.  Both are very well done, and make me want to learn the language (or, at least, have a better idea of how to pronounce it)!

  2. This is beautiful. Irish Gaelic is a beautiful language. I tried teaching myself a few years ago, but wasn't able to. I would love if Rosetta Stone or something similar had it available to learn.
