Starting Sparks: July Edition

Welcome back to Starting Sparks, a monthly writing link-up hosted by Emily @ Ink, Inc. and Ashley G. @ [insert title here]!  The idea behind it is to spark your creativity and write on a theme posted at the first of the month by the co-hosts.  You can write whatever you like be it a short story, a scene, a poem, a piece of dialogue, or simply an exploration of an idea.  This month the selected theme is the following:

That One Song

I've always wanted a theme song - preferably some sweeping orchestral music by John Williams or some badass classic rock.  Nope, I've come to the conclusion that mine's "Riptide" by Vance Joy.  Mostly, it's those first couple of lines that have convinced me of that fact.  Let's just say that I can really relate to them.  They just really get me.  You know how it goes right?  "I was scared of dentists and the dark/ I was scared of pretty girls and starting conversations" ... Well, really all you have to do is swap out "was" for "am" and that's me all over.

  1. I love this song! I can completely understand your feelings on it too, lol. I had a quick lunch at a bar the other day and this really adorable cute guy was trying to talk to me. I FAILED SO BAD. Conversations are not my thing... :P

  2. Haha! So true! I am awful at talking to guys, especially if I actually like a guy. Okay, so I'm just awful at talking in general. . .
