  1. Fantasy novels do tend to have unique character names, which is great because I think the character then lingers longer in our minds. But on the other hand, sometimes I can't pronounce the names!! ;)

Thanks for visiting Finding Wonderland, Lauren.

    1. Figuring out how to pronounce them is the fun part! :)

  5. Oh, Tyrion and Daenerys are my favourite. Tyrion is easy to write but I always spell Daenerys wrong :P
And I really hate sometimes how tough the fantasy names are. I can't even pronounce the first three names properly :(

    1. Oddly, enough I figured out how to say Dany's name right (according to how it's said in in the show), but I had trouble with Tyrion - I said (and still say regardless of the series) Tie-ree-un. I like the sound, and I like that it sounds similar to Tywin that way.

Sometimes they can get pretty ridiculous but I love trying to figure it out. :)

And how do you say a name like Guenhwyvar?

    Good list though.

    1. Guenhwyvar is the old Welsh form of Guinevere, if that helps. There are a lot of pronunciation ideas thrown around the internet, but you are likely safe with Gwen-ih-var or Gwen-hwi-var I figure?
