Happy Tuesday everyone! Welcome to the Top Ten Tuesday now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is Rainy Day Reads (submitted by Shayna @ Clockwork Bibliotheca). After each title I'm sharing the best type of rain for each title. Here we go, in no particular order:
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë - just misting
Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë - raging thunderstorm
Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle - raining cats and dogs
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer - overcast with a light rain
The Shining by Stephen King - fat raindrops to a freezing rain
The Fall of the House of Usher by Edgar Allan Poe - a dreary downpour
Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli - a light drizzle
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins - rain pelting down along the windows
The Merciless by Danielle Vega - a thunderstorm with hail and a tornado
The Help by Kathryn Stockett - a sunshower
Have you read any of these books? What books do you think are perfect for a rainy day? As always thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
1: I really like your fun add-on for this list (type of rain) and 2: I saw Jane Eyre on another list too. While I haven't read it, if the many film adaptations are an indication, this one seems an ideal rainy day read. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was a lot of fun to put together and yes Jane Eyre is perfect for a rainy day. :)
DeleteOh so many of these look like fantastic rainy day type reads! Can you believe I've never read Sherlock Holmes?
ReplyDeleteWhat?! I'm sure you'd love it.
DeleteClassics, I've seen quite a few on lists today. They would work perfect. I also really enjoyed Merciless!

I'm not surprised. Thanks for coming over, Melanie.
DeleteSo many good choices! :-) The Help and Simon Vs are such great picks! My TTT
ReplyDeleteThanks c for sharing, Chrissie.
DeleteGreat list! Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda is such a good read for a rainy day, and so's Jane Eyre. :D
ReplyDeleteFor sure!
DeleteThe Fall of the House of Usher is a great choice.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Pretty much anything by Poe really. :)
DeleteHa ha, you definitely got the rain description of The Merciless right😁
ReplyDeleteIf anything!
DeleteI love the classic spin you put on this week's topic. There is something about rainy days that makes reading the classics super appealing (and I'm a huge Jane Eyre fan!)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely!
DeleteI love the Twilight pick! That one is perfect for a rainy day!
ReplyDeleteIt fits the bill. :)
DeleteI like the way you assign the type of rain to each book. It rains a lot here so any book is really a good book for a rainy day. I'm off the board with unusual narrators this week. Check it out.
ReplyDeleteTrue!
DeleteI like how you listed the type of rain the book would be good with. I've read Jane Eyre before, but I don't think I've read any of the others yet.
ReplyDeleteThey're good for any kind of weather really.
DeleteI love how you assigned each book a type of rain! I haven't read very many of these, so I'll have to read more of them to see how the 'rain' fits the book!
ReplyDeleteI hope you like the ones you try.
DeleteI love that you paired your book with the level of precipitation. Fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming over, Sam!
DeleteThanks for doing my topic (and linking back to me)! I love that we both included Jane Eyre :)

Woot!
DeleteI liked your approach very much! But for me Jane Eyre is not a rainy read, I would be to depressed)))
ReplyDeleteI totally understand where you're coming from there.
