Wyrd & Wonder 2025 - Movies and TV Shows I Want To Watch This Month

Happy Saturday everyone!  Today I'm sharing my potential watchlist for Wyrd & Wonder 2025 (a month long celebration of all things fantasy co-hosted by Lisa @ Dear Geek Place, imyril @ There’s Always Room For One More, Ariana @ The Book Nook, Annemieke @ A Dance With Books, and Jorie @ Jorie Loves A Story) (artwork by Yuri Arcurs Photography).  I've got quite a few fantasy movies and tv shows on my watchlist and I think I've got some great watching ahead of me.  I can't say that I'll make much of a dent in them, but I'll give it my best try!  If you like, you can check out my announcement and tbr post here.  You can check out my list on Letterboxd as well, if you like.

Movies:

The Age of Adeline (2015) - So all of the movies I've picked out for this month are fantasy movies I've got on various Letterboxd challenges I'm doing.  This one is on my Honey, I Shrunk the Watchlist! Challenge 2025.  It's been recommended to me many times and it's been on my watchlist for way too long.

DragonHeart (1996) - Somehow I've never seen this - I've been told I need to fix that.  I'm watching this as a part of my The Anti-Criterion Challenge 2025. 

Freaky Friday (1976) - The remake is a classic, but somehow I'd totally missed out on the original movie that inspired it.  I'm watching this as a part of my Hater Club Movie Challenge 2025.

Heaven Can Wait (1978) - As a fan of Here Comes Mr. Jordan (1941), I can't wait to see this second adaptation of the same play that inspired that movie.  I'm watching this as a part of my 52 Years In 52 Weeks: 2025.

Il Mare (2000) - I've seen the American remake of this movie (it's been ages but I remember liking it) and I'd like to see the movie that inspired it.  I'm watching this as a part of my Birth Year Challenge: Part 2.

The Last Witch Hunter (2015) - I haven't heard the best things about this, but I still get a kick out of horror fantasy.  I'm watching this as a part of my The Anti-Criterion Challenge 2025.

Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical (2022) - This just sounds like it will be delightful.  I'm watching this as a part of my Hater Club Movie Challenge 2025.

The Sword in the Stone (1963) - Somehow I've never seen this before.  I'm disappointed in myself actually for having missed this one.  I'm watching this as a part of my Honey, I Shrunk the Watchlist! Challenge 2025.

Troll Hunter (2010) -  I've enjoyed other productions from the director of this movie, Andre Ovredal, and I hope I like this one too.  I'm watching this as a part of my The Anti-Criterion Challenge 2025.

Winter's Tale (2014) -  The original novel this is based on didn't quite work on me, but I thought I'd try the movie since I like the idea of it.  I'm watching this as a part of my 52 Years In 52 Weeks: 2025.

TV Shows:

Carnival Row, Season 1 (2019) - This is another one I've been meaning to watch for a long time.  One of my friends is a fan of the show, so I hope I like it too.

Preacher, Season 1 (2016) - I've read some of the graphic novels that inspired this show and it seems like it could be right up my alley.

Tomorrow, Season 1 (2022) - The trailer for this K-Drama looks like it could be a really cool series.  I've been meaning to watch this for ages now.  I hope I can get started in on this show asap.

The Wheel of Time, Season 1 (2021) - I've only read the first book in the series this is based on so far, but the show looks like it could have potential.  I've been putting this off so I hope I can get to this series this month.  By the way, this is the tv show I'm starting with!
