On Friday's I take part in three weekly link ups - The Friday 56, hosted by Freda's Voice, and Book Beginnings, hosted by Rose City Reader. For The Friday 56, you choose a book, a book you have just finished, a book you are about to start, your current read, and share a line or a few lines that grab you (but don't spoil anything) from page 56 or 56% of the way through the ebook. Post it and share your post's url on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post. As for Book Beginnings, you share the first sentence or so and your initial thoughts, impressions, or whatever else it inspires, and then link up your post's url with Rose City Reader.
Happy Friday everyone! This week I'm spotlighting one of my current Pride Month reads, The Smoke Thieves (The Smoke Thieves #1) by Sally Green. I loved Sally Green's Half Bad trilogy and I'm so glad to be jumping into a new trilogy, especially one that's already completed.
Beginning:
"Everything ready?"
"No. This is a figment of your imagination, and I've been sitting on my arse all day eating honey." Tash was adjusting the rope so its knotted end was a hand's breath above the bottom of the pit.
56:
Demon smoke was their blood, but Tash thought it was also like their last breath, their spirit.
What are you reading this week? Have you read this book? As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

ReplyDeleteI hope you had a great one!
DeleteSounds interesting! Thanks for sharing the beginning on BBOF!
ReplyDeleteIt was certainly a good series starter.
DeleteI've never read Sally Green but this sounds really good. 😁
ReplyDeleteShe's definitely a talented writer. I will say that I think I preferred Half Bad a little more than this though.
