The Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings): The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab

On Friday's I take part in three weekly link ups - The Friday 56, hosted by Freda's Voice, and Book Beginnings, hosted by Rose City Reader.  For The Friday 56, you choose a book, a book you have just finished, a book you are about to start, your current read, and share a line or a few lines that grab you (but don't spoil anything) from page 56 or 56% of the way through the ebook. Post it and share your post's url on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post. As for Book Beginnings, you share the first sentence or so and your initial thoughts, impressions, or whatever else it inspires, and then link up your post's url with Rose City Reader.

Happy Friday everyone!  This week I'm spotlighting one of my current Pride Month reads, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab.  Schwab is one of my favorite authors and I'm so happy to be back with her here!

Beginning:

A girl is running for her life.

56:

She has not gone in.  She is still standing on the street, the cigarette burned away to nothing between her fingers.

A man holds open the door.  "You coming in?"

Addie shakes her head, and forces herself to step back, away from the door, and the bar, and the boy about to take the stage.  "Not tonight," she says.

What are you reading this week?  Have you read this book?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

  1. I've seen this book around everywhere but now with these quotes my desire to read it has definitely gone up a notch. I'll have to see if I can snag a copy from a local bookstore nearby! I hope you have a lovely start to the weekend and do drop by my Friday post if you have the time! - Juli @ A Universe in Words
