Wyrd & Wonder 2025 - Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite Fantasy Books I've Read Since Last May

wyrd & wonder 2025 celebrate the fantastic - mermaid underwater

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday which is is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.  All this month I'm featuring fantasy in honor of Wyrd & Wonder 2025 (a month long celebration of all things fantasy co-hosted by Lisa @ Dear Geek Place, imyril @ There’s Always Room For One More, Ariana @ The Book Nook, Annemieke @ A Dance With Books, and Jorie @ Jorie Loves A Story with artwork by Yuri Arcurs Photography).  This week's topic is Authors (or books by authors) Who Live In My State/Country (submitted by Jennifer @ Funk-N-Fiction). but in honor of Wyrd & Wonder I'm featuring some of my Favorite Fantasy Books I've Read Since Last May.  Without further ado, here we go in alphabetical order by title:

The Alloy of Law (Mistborn #4) by Brandon Sanderson - I really enjoyed the first three books, but I absolutely loved the style of this one.

And All The Seas Beheld by J.E. Ellis - My review is currently the only one on Goodreads for this, so this is quite the hidden gem.  I received an ARC from Reedsy Discovery and was extremely lucky for this fantasy adventure to become one of my favorites of 2024.

Blood Pact (Victoria Nelson #4) by Tanya Huff - I've enjoyed all of the books in the series so far, but I wasn't expecting to love this one and appreciate where it went quite as much as I did.  I'll have to read the next book soon.

Dead Things Are Closer Than They Appear by Robin Wasley - This YA novel was easily one of my favorites of 2024.  If you like The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater, you have to try this.

The Empress of Time (The Keeper of Night #2) by Kylie Lee Baker - This duology finale deserves more attention.  If you're a fan of mythology retellings, historical fantasy, morally gray leads, you'll have to give this duology a try.

Lost in the Never Woods by Aiden Thomas - I read this for my Read Harder Challenge 2024 and it's a contender for my favorite Peter Pan retelling.  I shouldn't have put this 2021release off!

Night Owls by A.R. Vishny - I had no expectations for this, but it quickly became one of my favorite reads of 2024.  If you're a fan of If you're a fan of Dead Things Are Closer Than They Appear by Robin Wasley, The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater, and The Diviners by Libba Bray, then I bet this hidden gem will be right up your alley too.

Les Normaux by Janine Janssen with S. Al Sabado - The representation in this hidden gem is so refreshing and the characters are all delightful.  I need volume 2 asap.

Silver in the Wood (The Greenhollow Duology #2) by Emily Tesh - Both installments of this duology are absolutely brilliant.  I just wish these novellas were longer.

Witch Hat Atelier, Vol. 6 by Kamome Shirahama - This whole manga series has been beautiful, but I'd say that this particular volume is my favorite so far.

Have you read any of these books?  Are you participating in Wyrd & Wonder this year?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

  2. I have the first book in The Keeper of Night series on my TBR, but I haven't had a chance to give it a read. I'm glad to know there's a second one, and they are both worth reading.
