My choice:
Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V.E. Schwab - I just love this author!
4. A book that starts with the letter "Z"
My choice:
Zachary Ying and the Dragon Emperor (Zachary Ying #1) by Xiran Jay Zhao - This sounds like a Rick Riordan style story and it sounds like a fun MG fantasy.
5. A book about women astronauts
My choice:
The Relentless Moon (Lady Astronaut Universe #3) by Mary Robinette Kowal - I don't know why I've been putting off continuing this series off because I loved the style of the previous books.
6. A book with an overweight main character whose story isn't about losing weight
My choice:
Pumpkin (Dumplin' #3) by Julie Murphy - I don't know why I never read this one because the other books in the series were pretty nice.
7. A book about a granny hobby
My choice:
The Spellshop (Spellshop #1) by Sarah Beth Durst - I've been looking for more cozy fantasy.
8. A book about a sexless marriage
My choice:
The Miniaturist (The Miniaturist #1) by Jessie Burton - I really liked the miniseries adaptation of this book - I hope I like the source material just as much!
9. A book with a "type C" character - Type C personalities are precise and detail-oriented. They think in a systematic way and tend to make decisions carefully and based on a thorough research
My choice:
A Ruse of Shadows (Lady Sherlock #8) by Sherry Thomas - I love this series and I'm hoping to continue it on audiobook since the narrator does such a great job.
10. A book about a horse or with a horse on the cover
My choice:
The High King's Tomb (Green Rider #3) by Kristen Britain - The first two books were great and I need to get caught up on the rest of the series soon.
11. A book with a dad as the primary caregiver
My choice:
Somewhere Beyond the Sea (Cerulean Sea #2) by TJ Klune - I absolutely loved book one and I'm dying to read book two.
12. A book with "pop" or "sugar" in the title
My choice:
Step Aside, Pops (Hark! A Vagrant #2) by Kate Beaton - I've never read anything from this author, but she's been on my radar for a long time.
13. A book featuring a character with a hidden past
My choice:
Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane - I love the movie and I can't wait to try the source material.
14. A book set in Michigan or written by an author from Michigan
My choice:
Terminal Alliance (Janitors of the Post-Apocalypse #1) by Jim C. Hines - I love this author and this looks fun.
15. A book about new beginnings
My choice:
It Will Only Hurt for a Moment by Delilah S. Dawson - It's been awhile since I've read this author and I need to read more.
16. A book less than 260 pages
My choice:
The Making of England, 55 B.C. to 1399 (A History of England #1) by C. Warren Hollister - None of the editions on Goodreads match the copy I have, but it does sound interesting.
17. A book about your favorite event in the Winter Olympics

An Unwanted Guest by Shari Lapena - This has been recommended to me several times.
18. A love story that defies social boundaries
My choice:
The Wild Robot Escapes (The Wild Robot #2) by Peter Brown - I loved book one and the movie adaptation too. I can't wait to read this one.
19. A book about teen angst
My choice:
Compound Fracture by Andrew Joseph White - This author has been brilliant and I can't wait to read this one.
20. A book with a character who does Pilates or Lagree
My choice:
Never Saw Me Coming by Vera Kurian - This does sound like an interesting thriller.
21. A book about a bachelorette trip
My choice:
The Upstairs House by Julia Fine - I'm always on the look out for intriguing horror.

My choice:
Listen for the Lie by Amy Tintera - I've been wanting to read this for a long time.
26. A book with a character who navigates infertility
My choice:
The Children of Men by P.D. James - I've seen the movie, now I have to try the source material.

Witches' Night of Fear (Witches' Chillers #2) by Silver RavenWolf - I picked this up from a thrift store awhile ago. I'll definitely be trying this.

The Blacktongue Thief (Blacktongue #1) by Christopher Buehlman - I think I'll really like this one.
29. A book that takes place during harvesting season
My choice:
Beyond (The Founding of Valdemar #1) by Mercedes Lackey - There are so many books by this author that I want to read.
30. A travel ghost story
My choice:
Frozen Charlotte (Frozen Charlotte #1) by Alex Bell - I got this at a thrift store - I think it sounds like a great choice for this prompt.

My choice:
Katabasis by R.F. Kuang - I haven't put it off for long, but it's still long enough.

Dark Life (Dark Life #1) by Kat Falls - This is another one I picked up at a thrift shop.

The Empress of Salt and Fortune (The Singing Hills Cycle #1) by Nghi Vo - I've loved what I've read from this author already and need to read more.

Daily Life in Medieval Times by Frances Gies, Joseph Gies - This is does feature medieval Italy!

Dungeon Crawler Carl (Dungeon Crawler Carl #1) by Matt Dinniman - I have heard a lot of great things about this whole series.

Stars and Smoke (Stars and Smoke #1) by Marie Lu - I don't know why I've been putting this off.

My choice:
James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl - I've seen the movie, but it's never been a favorite so we'll see what I think of this.

My choice:
Marathon Man by William Goldman - I've heard of the movie before but never seen it and I had no idea the original novel was written by the author of
The Princess Bride.
40. A book outside your comfort zone
My choice:
My Status As An Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero's, Vol. 1 (My Status As An Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero's Light Novel #1) by Matsuri Akai - I don't often read light novels and I'm not at all familiar with the manga, but this does sound fun.

My choice:
The Liminal Zone (The Liminal Zone #1) by Junji Ito - Ito has quickly become a favorite. I'll check it out on ebook from Libby.

My choice:
When the Moon Hits Your Eye by John Scalzi - I don't know why I've been putting this one off.

Magic Burns (Kate Daniels #2) by Ilona Andrews - It's time to get caught up on this series.

My choice:
A Letter to the Luminous Deep (The Sunken Archive #1) by Sylvie Cathrall - This has been on my radar and it sounds like it has a lot of potential.
48. A book with a shadow daddy - A shadow daddy is a particular type of enemies-to-lovers male love interest: a morally gray bad boy with a heart of gold, deadly to his enemies but sweet to his lover.
My choice:
Onyx Storm (The Empyrean #3) by Rebecca Yarros - Honestly, I'd never heard of a "shadow daddy" before now at all. But, I guess Xaden from this series qualifies.
49. A book with a mention of your zodiac sign
My choice:
The Astrology House by Carinn Jade - Well, I'm a Leo so hopefully this will work.g
50. A book about Afrofuturism
My choice:
Parable of the Talents (Earthseed #2) by Octavia E. Butler - Book one was outstanding and I'm looking forward to trying this sequel.
