Happy Saturday everyone! Today, I'm announcing my participation in another year long reading challenge that's new to me, Read Queerly 2026 which is hosted by Alexx @ Enthralled Bookworm. 2026 will be the 6th year for it, but somehow I'd missed it until now. Anyway, the main goal of this reading challenge is to read books featuring LGBTQ+ characters and stories for the whole year. The challenge features a 4 x 4 bingo board of prompts to help direct the challenge. The challenge is also available on The StoryGraph. Keep reading to see the sixteen books on my tbr for this challenge:
2. Black author: A queer book written by a Black Author
My choice: Model Home by Rivers Solomon - I haven't read much from Solomon, but this horror novel sounds like it will be excellent.
3. Trans kids: A queer middle grade book featuring a trans kid/s
My choice: Another Kind by Trevor Bream and illustrated by Cait May - I think this sounds like a fun, fantasy MG graphic novel.
4. Island icon: Any queer book set on an island or about an island
My choice: The Dead of Summer (The Dead of Summer #1) by Ryan La Sala - I've only read a short story from this author so far and I need to try more. They all sound good.
5. SWANA Author: A queer book written by a SWANA (Southwest Asian and North African) Author
My choice: The Oleander Sword (The Burning Kingdoms #2) by Tasha Suri - Book one in this series was amazing and I can't wait to see what happens next.
6. Series or Duolog: A queer book that's part of a duology, trilogy/series
8. Disability/Neurodiversity rep: A queer book featuring disabled MCs or neurodivergent MCs
My choice: Hazelthorn by CG Drews - I've really liked her YA style so far and I need to give this a try too.
9. Heists: A queer book featuring heists
My choice: Hammajang Luck by Makana Yamamoto - I've heard this described as Ocean's 8 meets Blade Runner and for fans of Tamsyn Muir and Leigh Bardugo, so my expectations are very heigh.
10. Roommates: A queer book with the roommates trope
My choice: My Roommate From Hell by Cale Dietrich - I haven't read this author, but this sounds like it could be fun.
11. Latinx/Latine Author: A queer book written by a Latinx/Latine Author
My choice: When the Moon Was Ours by Anna-Marie McLemore - I don't know why I've been putting this off for so long.
12. API Author: A queer book written by an API (Asian/Pacific Islander) Author
My choice: The Empress of Salt and Fortune (The Singing Hills Cycle #1) by Nghi Vo - I've really loved what I've read from this author so far and need to read more.
14. Indigenous Author: A queer book written by an Indigenous Author
16. Start Game Button icon: A queer book featuring video games/gamers or even tabletop RPGs
My choice: The Last Session Vol. 1: Roll for Initiative (The Last Session #1-5) by Jasmine Walls - Okay, I think this is going to be a lot of fun!

My choice: Coffeeshop in an Alternate Universe by C.B. Lee - This cozy YA fantasy romance just sounds nice.2. Black author: A queer book written by a Black Author

My choice: Into the Drowning Deep (Rolling in the Deep #1) by Mira Grant - Seanan McGuire is one of my favorites and I love her style as Mira Grant too.

My choice: To Ride A Rising Storm (Nampeshiweisit #2) by Moniquill Blackgoose - This is one of my most anticipated reads of 2026! I loved book one so much!
15. Sapphic Knights: A queer book featuring sapphic knights/swordswomen
My choice: The Starving Saints by Caitlin Starling - I've enjoyed other horror from this author and this looks intriguing.16. Start Game Button icon: A queer book featuring video games/gamers or even tabletop RPGs
