Welcome back everyone and Happy New Year's Eve Eve!  Today, I'm featuring an album that I totally picked up on a whim from an antique shop for $1.  The album is called The Sound of Sight and it's from Ray Martin and His Orchestra  and I believe it's from 1964.  I hadn't heard of it and I wasn't at all familiar with the comp...

Book Riot's 2025 Read Harder Challenge - Announcement & TBR

Happy Sunday everyone!  2025 is just around the corner and that means it's time to share my plans for  Book Riot's 2025 Read Harder Challenge .  Anyway, just like 2017-2024, one of my 2025 resolutions is to complete Book Riot's annual challenge.  It's a great way to challenge myself to read more widely, broadly, and out of my comfort zone.  There are twenty-four tasks to complete over the course of the year.  You can read one book to complete multiple tasks, or read one book per task.  In order to get the most out of this challenge, I will be reading one book per task with two books per month.  Here's the list of the twenty-four challenge tasks and my proposed reading list.  This year, rather than complete these in official task order, I'm going to change things up a bit.  Keep reading to see what I'm hoping to read in the coming year. January Read a book about obsession. My choice:  The Folcroft Ghosts  by Darcy Coates  -...

Reindeer Readathon 2024 - Wrap Up & Mini Reviews

Happy Saturday everyone!  Today I'm sharing my wrap up and mini reviews for the  Reindeer Readathon  which will ran for the entire month of December and was hosted by  Erik @ Breakeven Books  with some help from  Noelle ,  Christine & Mo ,  Kristin ,  Hannah ,  Vanessa  and  Steffany .  I was on Team Mistletoe this year which was hosted by Erik himself.  I managed to complete all of the books on my original tbr and earned all of my points - 275 points!  Without further ado, let's get to my mini reviews:  DASHER - 10 PTS - Read a book that is recommended to you on social media or is a list recommendation (YouTube, Goodreads, Google, etc.). ❋  ❋  ❋ Thief of the Heights  by Son M.  is a solid standalone YA fantasy sci-fi dystopian0, but it takes awhile to get going and then it's rushes a little too much to really stick the ending.  I definitely appreciated the diversity and ...

The Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings): The Scapegoat by Daphne du Maurier

On Friday's I take part in two weekly link ups - The Friday 56, currently hosted by  Anne @ My Head Is Full of Books , and Book Beginnings, hosted by  Rose City Reader .  For The Friday 56, you choose a book, a book you have just finished, a book you are about to start, your current read, and share a line or a few lines that grab you (but don't spoil anything) from page 56 or 56% of the way through the ebook. Post it and share your post's url on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post. As for Book Beginnings, you share the first sentence or so and your initial thoughts, impressions, or whatever else it inspires, and then link up your post's url with Rose City Reader.  Happy Friday everyone!  This week I'm spotlighting one of my  Reindeer Readathon 2024   reads ,  The Scapegoat  by Daphne du Maurier .   Rebecca  is one of my favorites and I recently picked up this lesser known gothic mystery from her and can't wait to t...
