The Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings): Suburban Hell by Maureen Kilmer

Book Riot's 2023 Read Harder Challenge - March Update: Women, Race & Class & I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I hope everyone's been doing well.  How is it almost April already?  Anyway, I've now competed the four tasks of  Book Riot's 2023 Read Harder Challenge .  The tasks I completed this month required me to r ead  a nonfiction book about intersectional feminism and a  book of poetry by a BIPOC or queer author  and I selected  Women, Race & Class  by Angela Y. Davis  and  I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings  by Maya Angelou  respectively.   Read on to see my mini reviews and keep your eyes out soon for my tbr for next month: ❋   ❋  ❋  ❋   ❋  Women, Race & Class  by Angela Y. Davis  should be required reading.  I really wish I had read and studied this back when I was in college rather than tackling it on my own, but regardless it is such a powerful read.  If you're looking for history of intersectional feminism, this is a comprehensive although brief work.  Even though this is over 4o years old now, it's still just as relevant as ever.  In

Magical Readathon: Orilium - Spring Equinox 2023 - Announcement & TBR

Happy Wednesday everyone!  It's now that time to start my Spring Equinox 2023 classes at Orilium  for the  Magical Readathon , hosted by  G. @ Book Roast .  I've followed the  Novice Path , completed the  Traveller's Key , have  Geared Up , completed the  Spring Equinox 2022 ,  completed the  August Equinox 2022 , visited Old Favour Pass , and I've also been working on the  Choose Your Own Adventure: Year In Aeldia challenge this year as well.  This Spring Equinox semester runs all of April.  Like before I've decided to continue studying for the Calling of a Scribe which sounds like a great fit for me.  That means I'll be taking five courses: Elemental Studies, Inscription, Spells & Incantations, Restoration, and Lore.  To complete each course I'll need to read one book to fulfill a specific prompt.  Keep reading to see what I plan on reading to complete my course of study for this semester: Elemental Studies - Botanic Controls: Flower On The Cover My c

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I've Loved Recently With Less Than 2,000 Goodreads Ratings

          Happy Tuesday everyone!  Welcome to the Top Ten Tuesday hosted by  That Artsy Reader Girl .  This week's topic is a TTT Rewind to redo or update a previous topic and I've decided to feature Books I've Loved Recently With Less Than 2,000 Goodreads Ratings which I originally posted on February 19, 2019 .  Without further ado, here we go in order by the number of ratings (as of March 7th): The Third Crossing ( War of the Last Day #0) by Karim Soliman - Ratings: 13 - Honestly, this whole epic fantasy deserves a lot more love and especially this prequel. What Child Is This? ( A Sherlock Holmes Adventure #5) by Bonnie MacBird - Ratings: 396 - I love this series so much and it deserves all the attention it can get.  They feel like the original Conan Doyle stories, yet still feel fresh.  If you like Jeremy Brett and David Burke as Holmes and Watson, I have a feeling this would be right up your alley. Klune  - I'm reading this for the  Magical Readathon: Orilium - Choose Your Own Adventure: Year In Aeldia  for March and I'm just excited to read more from this author. April For You and Only You ( You #4) by Carolyn Kepnes - I've really liked this series and I'm really excited that I've been approved for this on NetGalley! In the Lives of Puppets by T.J. Klune - I've loved every book I've read from this author and I'm thrilled to have been approved for an ARC on NetGalley. The Scourge Between Stars  by Ness Brown  - T
