The Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings): Like A River Glorious (The Gold Seer Trilogy #2) by Rae Carson

On Friday's I take part in two weekly link ups - The Friday 56, hosted by  Freda's Voice , and Book Beginnings, hosted by  Rose City Reader .  For The Friday 56, you choose a book, a book you have just finished, a book you are about to start, your current read, and share a line or a few lines that grab you (but don't spoil anything) from page 56 or 56% of the way through the ebook. Post it and share your post's url on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post. As for Book Beginnings, you share the first sentence or so and your initial thoughts, impressions, or whatever else it inspires, and then link up your post's url with Rose City Reader.  Happy Friday (the final one of 2022, I can't believe it!) everyone! This week I'm spotlighting one of my  Reindeer Readathon 2022  books,  Like A River Glorious  ( The Gold Seer Trilogy  #2) by Rae Carson .  The first book in this historical fantasy series was such a pleasant surprise, and I'm hoping this wil

PopCulture Readathon, '90s & '00s Music: Rock Alt Night Board - Announcement & TBR

Happy Thursday everyone!  This January I'll be participating in the next round of the  PopCulture Readathon , created and hosted by  Whitney @ bookswhitme  (with some assistance from  Lo @ Reading Parental ).   The theme is '90s & '00s Music.  There were so many classic songs weren't there!  There are 5 different boards - The Pop Girls, The Boys Are Back, Nothin' But R&B, Rapper's Delight, and Rock Alt Night.  I've decided to tackle that last board, Rock Alt Night.  I don't know if I get to all of these, but I have a great reading plan anyway.  Keep reading to check out my TBR: sk8er boi - hockey romance My choice: Michigan vs. the Boys by Carrie S. Allen - This looks like a YA sports book that has a bit of a romance element.  The standard hockey romance doesn't really appeal to me at all, so I thought I'd try something else close to it. you oughta know - comfort author My choice: Gallant by V.E. Schwab - I've had this sitting on my

2022 Popsugar Reading Challenge - Update #12

Happy Wednesday everyone and welcome to my final 2022 Popsugar Reading Challenge update with mini reviews!  In Dcember I completed 1 book for a total of 50 of 50 books for the  2022 Popsugar Reading Challenge .  I'm glad I finally met my goal of reading all fifty books for this challenge!  Keep reading to see my thoughts on the book I read in December: ❋   ❋  ❋   ❋   ❋ Rule of Wolves  ( King of Scars  #2) by Leigh Bardugo  was such a good finale. It was so nice to see some of my favorites return - and there were some tough goodbyes too.  Zoya was definitely my favorite character in this duology  She's easily the MVP here.  I'm really looking forward to that upcoming third Six of Crows book and season 2 of Shadow and Bone on Netflix in March. My review is also on Goodreads . Have you read this series finale?  Did you take part in this year's challenge - and are you participating in next year's?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting
