Dork Diaries: Tales from a Not-So-Fabulous Life (Dork Diaries #1) by Rachel Renee Russell - Review

❋

Nikki Maxwell desperately wants an iPhone, but her brain dead mother buys her a diary instead. Nikki begins to use her seriously uncool diary to tell us all about her experiences at her new school, the popular and mean kids, and her new crush.

What you need to know is that Dork Diaries: Tales from a Not-So-Fabulous Life is the tween girl equivalent of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Honestly, I would say to stick with Greg Heffley's misadventures because Nikki's antics don't come anywhere close to being funny. There's not a whole lot of substance to the dramatics, and the dialog does not come across as natural.

I read this on April 2, 2015 and my review is also available on Goodreads.
