Top Ten Tuesday: Characters You'd Like To Check In With

This Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, is Characters You'd Like To Check In With.  So in this week's list I'll be sharing with you some of the characters I would like to revisit after their stories ended.

Everyone from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series - especially between the trio's final year and that epilogue.

Everyone from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings - If this story could just keep going that would be wonderful!

Levi and Cath from Rainbow Rowell's Fangirl - the only contemporary characters to make my list and I would love to return to their world.

Nita and Kit from Diane Duane's Young Wizards series - I still haven't read book nine, but I would love to before the tenth book comes out in 2016.

Katniss and Peeta after Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins - I would definitely appreciate more just before that flash forward epilogue.

Westley and Buttercup from The Princess Bride by William Golding - I wish Buttercup's Baby had happened!

Drizzt Do'Urden from The Legend of Drizzt series by R.A. Salvatore - I loved this series when I was younger and I need to start back up where I left off!

Everyone from Shutter by Courtney Alameda - If only this were part of a series!

The Hempstock women from Neil Gaiman's The Ocean at the End of the Lane

Oskar and Eli from Let the Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist - One of my favorite vampire books and movies (the original Swedish version) and after that ending, of course I want to know what happens to them.

So what do you think of my list?  Do we share any characters or titles?

  1. The Hemstock women are so interesting. They just need their own book.

  2. Awww, so many great choices! I love the Gaiman book, and would love to see another book featuring the Hemstock women -- what a great idea! HP was on my list too, and I'd absolutely love to read more about all of the LOTR characters (especially Aragorn). Westly & Buttercup -- awesome!!

  3. Wow the Young Wizard series! I haven't thought about those books in years! I honestly am not even sure which book I left off on or where they are. But I would really love to revisit those books. Also what a great idea to include the Hempstock women. Always will be curious about them!

  4. Excellent choices. I am so glad to see that I'm not the only one who wants to know what happened with Oskar and Eli. I think I've read all of these except Fangirl and Do You Want to Be A Wizard. But yes, they definitely all do leave you wanting to know either what happened between the final scenes and their epilogues or what happened to them period!

  6. I totally forgot about Wesley and Buttercup! Great list though I haven't read most of the books. Might add some to my TBR list that is growing so quickly now that I am blogging. AHH! LOL

  7. The Ocean at the End of the Lane... That's a great choice! I'd love to know what the Hempstock women got up to afterward.

  10. I don't know how I managed to not put Harry Potter on this my list this week! That is utterly shocking to me that I forgot.

  11. I agree with the Hempstock women, of course :) and with the Harry Potter trio and Katniss/Peeta as well! A little more story instead of just "here's what happened" would be nice.

  12. I totally agree with you on Harry Potter! Even with the epilogue at the end... I still want more! And Frodo and Sam and everyone from LOTR! It's a good ending... but still :D

  13. The Hunger Games epiloge just wasn't enough. Plus, it didn't really feel personal enough. And I wish we got to Katniss at a point in her life where she was really, truly happy. I just wasn't feeling it. I would just love to see more of her and Peeta! And Harry Potter. Always Harry Potter.

  14. Oh the Princess Bride, I loved the movie! And I forgot about LOTR, still have to read the books but I saw all of the movies. Epic List!

  15. Meant to leave this sooner. Thanks for stopping over my blog at Reading in the Tardis. Definitely should have added The Princess Bride peeps to my list too! I loved reading The Ocean at the End of the Lane and I need to read Fan Girl.
