The Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings): The Raven King (The Raven Cycle #4) by Maggie Stiefvater

Welcome to The Friday 56, a weekly meme hosted by Freda's Voice.

These are the rules:
1. Grab a book, any book.
2. Turn to page 56, or 56% on your eReader.
3. Find any sentence (or a few, just don't spoil it) that grabs you.
4. Post it.
5. Add the URL to your post in the link on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post.

I'm also taking part in Book Beginnings, a weekly meme hosted by Rose City Reader.  The rules are pretty simple - you share the first sentence or so and your initial thoughts, impressions, or whatever else it inspires.  Don't forget to link up your post's url with Rose City Reader.

I've put off The Raven King (The Raven Cycle #4) by Maggie Stiefvater for long enough!  This week I'm spotlighting the grand finale in one of my favorite series - I guess, we'll see after I finish this one, won't we?  I've just started in on it and I can't begin to describe how beyond excited I am - and exceedingly nervous!

Beginning:

Richard Gansey III had forgotten how many times he had been told he was destined for greatness.

56:

Gansey was still talking to his phone.  "No, traffic is nonexistent unless it's a bingo night.  A shuttle?  How many people are you expecting?  I can't imagine -- oh.  The activity bus could be pressed into service, surely."

  3. Nice beginning, and I love the mention of bingo night in the other quote! I can't remember the last time I was "beyond excited" about starting a book, but that's a great feeling. Hope this one lives up to expectations.

  10. I might have audibly screamed when I saw which book you were doing for this week's 56. I love this series so much, it's ridiculous. Oh, Gansey, the way you speak always makes me laugh. Great pick this week, hope you enjoy!
