Happy Tuesday everyone!  Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday which is is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.  This week's topic is Books that Include/Feature [insert your favorite theme or plot device here] and I've decided to feature some of my favorite books with unreliable narrators.  Here we go, in alphabetical order by title:

Life of Pi by Yann Martel

Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro

One of Us is Lying (One of Us is Lying #1) by Karen M. McManus

Room by Emma Donoghue

We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware

Who are some of your favorite unreliable narrators?  Have you read any of these books?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

  1. Never Let Me Go is such a good book. I also really liked Gone Girl, and all of Gillian Flynn's books honestly.

  5. I have heard of many of these (they seem to be fan favorites of many readers), but none are on my "read" list. I know Gone Girl was one of those must read books at its release and I think I've heard of Girl on the Train too! Thanks so much for visiting my list today! :)

  6. I think my favourite unreliable narrator of the top of my head, is from The Death of Rodger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie. I didn't see it coming.

  8. I've only tried reading two of these, but they were both DNF for me. I found myself getting angry with one and bored with the other.

  10. I hadn't thought of it but now I realize that I often don't like unreliable narrators (the characters themselves) like the women in Gone Girl, Yellowface, The Girl on the Train.

  11. Lauren, this is such a great list. I love a story with an unreliable narrator, so it isn't much of a surprise that I've read most of the books on your list, and have the rest on my TBR 🤣 There are a few I enjoyed that didn't make the list, like Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine and The Woman in the Window, but I'm always game for reading a book with an unreliable narrator.

  12. These are excellent choices! Especially Life of Pi, which was one of the first books I remember reading with a big plot twist.

  13. In general, I like the unreliable narrator thing. I've read four of these books and several of the others are on my TBR list.

    Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

  14. Gone Girl is one of the first book that comes to mind for this topic. I always go back to Allegedly by Tiffany D. Jackson for great unreliable narrators.
