Happy Tuesday everyone! Welcome to the first Top Ten Tuesday now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is Frequently Used Words In [Insert Genre/Age Group] Titles. I'm going with fantasy titles that begin with "The Girl" and I'm breaking down my list by books I've read books and books on my TBR. Here we go:
Read Books:
Books On My TBR:
Have you ever read any of these books? What words or phrases have you noticed that are commonly used in books? As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
After putting my list together, I realized "girl" was probably a word I could have used (I spotted about 3 without looking hard). But oh well. Next time, right!? ;)
ReplyDeleteAlways! :)
DeleteI love your list! I still have to finish the girl with the steel corset
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm hoping to get to it soon.
DeleteI used "girl" too. Thee are SO many! I like the ones you picked out... and I haven't read any of these although The Girl in the Well I LOVE that cover!
ReplyDeleteI know right! I really need to try The Girl in the Well. :)
DeleteYes, girl is a very common word for titles in this genre. I wonder if there are just as many YA books whose titles include the word boy?
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thanks!
Not that I can think of like that anyway. Thanks for sharing!
DeleteI didn't realize how many "The Girl" titles are out there until I read your post! It makes you wonder if publishers deliberately use certain words and phrases to make a book successful😊
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprised. :)
DeleteHa! I chose girl, too, but did genres other than fantasy. It seems to be a WAY over used word in titles. Time for authors to move on to something new!
ReplyDeleteGreat minds must think alike! :)
DeleteGirl seems to have been a very common one this week!

I've noticed...
DeleteThanks for sharing!
Girl is everywhere this week! I really really want to read The Girl With All the Gifts, it looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteIt was awesome - I'm wanting to try the movie also. :)
DeleteI must really like "girl" in my titles because I have read almost all of these.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean there! :)
DeleteThis is true with thriller/suspense books too I think! A lot of them have "Girl" (or "Woman" or "Daughter") in the title for sure. I did cozy mysteries for my list this week.
ReplyDeleteI've noticed that too. Thanks for sharing!
DeleteGirl is definitely being talked about a lot today. I have 5 pages of "girl" books on my GR read shelf myself, though, I have on read The Girl of Fire and Thorns from your list (which is one of my favorite series).
ReplyDeleteI've heard a lot of great things about that series. Thanks for coming over, Sam.
DeleteWow I love your take on this list, I never would have thought of doing a list that starts with the same two words! I can't believe you found 10, I would have struggled doing it this way I think.
