Reindeer Readathon 2025 - Announcement & TBR

Happy Saturday everyone!  Today I'm sharing my TBR for the Reindeer Readathon which will run for the entire month of December.  It is hosted by Erik @ Breakeven Books with some help from Christine & MoKristinHannahVanessa, Tina, Ahtiya, and Steffany.  I'm on Team Snowflake this year which is hosted by Tina and Steffany.  I've been participating in this readathon since 2021, and I'd say I've got a great tbr put together for this year's round.  Without further ado, let's get to my tbr:

DASHER - 10 PTS - A book where the combined sum total of all the numbers in the page count must be greater than 12. An example would be 392 (3+9+2=14)

My choice: Ronan Boyle and the Bridge of Riddles (Ronan Boyle #1) by Thomas Lennon - I don't read MG often, but this sounds fun.  +20 BONUS POINTS - CHRISTMAS TREE

DANCER - 20 PTS - A book that matches (genre, trope, theme etc.) one of the first 5 words that you find in the word search. Must be a word from the list.

My choice: The Bewitching Hour: A Tara Prequel by Ashley Poston - I've been meaning to read this Buffy tie-in for ages.  It sounds like it could be a lot of fun. My word search word was "fantasy".  +20 BONUS POINTS - CHRISTMAS CAROLS

PRANCER - 25 PTS - The title has at least 7 syllables.

My choice: The Grimoire Grammar School Parent Teacher Association by Caitlin Rozakis - I've been looking for more cozy fantasy and this sounds like a fun one.

VIXEN - 15 PTS - The author has an initial in their name.

My name: Flamboyants: The Queer Harlem Renaissance I Wish I'd Known by George M. Johnson - I've been looking for more LGBT+ history and I don't think I should miss this.  +15 BONUS POINTS - CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

COMET - 10 PTS - Based on your astrology sign, read a book where one of the 3 listed colors is the main color on the cover. Cancer, Leo, Virgo: white, orange, or brown.

My choice: The Bands of Morning (Mistborn #6) by Brandon Sanderson - I've really loved the Wax & Wayne trilogy of this series so far and I'm glad my copy has a mostly white cover.  +15 BONUS POINTS - CHRISTMAS ELF

CUPID - 15 PTS - Choice your pairing: Physical book: Translated book.

Hex book cover

My choice: Hex (Robert Grim #1) by Thomas Olde Heuvelt - I was hoping to get to this for Halloween last month, but better late than never, right?

DONNER - 20 PTS - Book cover must have something from the title on it.

My choice: Greenteeth by Molly O'Neill - There is definitely has green teeth on the cover!

BLITZEN - 15 PTS - Choose 3 books at least 5 years old. Randomly select one of them.

My choice: A Rope - In Case (The Second Hebridean Trilogy #1) by Lillian Beckwith - My copy actually has a different cover, but I couldn't find mine in Goodreads. My other potential picks were Captives of Time by Malcolm Bosse and The Magician by Sol Stein.  I used the extremely scientific method of Eeny, meeny, miny, moe to pick which of the three.

RUDOLPH - 10 PTS - No eyes on the cover.

My choice: The 13th Hour (Nick Quinn Thrillers #1) by Richard Doetsch - I picked this up from a thrift shop awhile ago.  I hadn't heard of it before it sounds like it could be a cool time travel thriller.

SLEIGHING IT - 50 PTS - If you have completed all of your prompts and the Christmas bonus prompts (Star, Lights, Carols, Tree, Elf), you can redo one prompt of your choice for extra points.

My choice: Graveyard Shift by Michael F. Haspil - The task I'm repeating is Vixen.  I found this urban fantasy book at a local used book store and it sounds like it could be really cool.

Are you taking part in this year's Reindeer Readathon?  Have you read any of these books?  Which book should I read first?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
