Books From The Backlog: The Devil's Diadem by Sara Douglass

Happy Thursday everyone! Welcome back to Books from the Backlog, the weekly linkup I'm taking part of which is hosted by Carole's Random Life in Books.  This is a great way to put a spotlight on books that I've had sitting on my shelf for awhile.  I don't know when I'll get to my weekly featured book, but I hope to some time hopefully soon.

This Week's Neglected Book:

The Devil's Diadem by Sara Douglass

Published: January 1, 2011

Genre: Historical Fantasy

My Copy:

Format: Hardback

Pages: 522

Where I Acquired It: That Friends of the Library Book Warehouse

Summary (From Goodreads):

A foolish monk stole the Devil′s favourite diadem, and the Devil wants it back.

It is mid-twelfth century Europe and Evelyn Langtofte joins an aristocratic household to attend Adelie, the wife of the Earl of Pengraic, a powerful Lord of the Marches -- the dark Welsh borderlands. Then a plague that has swept Europe overtakes England and as life descends into chaos and civil disorder, Evelyn is about to discover that the horrors she survived at Pengraic Castle were but a prelude to the terrifying maelstrom which now envelops her and all of her countryfolk.

Hell has come to desecrate England, and the only thing that can possibly foil its plans are the wits of one lonely, isolated, terrified woman.

Why Did I Add It?

I loved The Wayfarer Redemption series and I have to read more from the author.

Have you read this thoughts or would you read it?  Would you recommend it to me?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
