Happy Sunday everyone and welcome to SciFi Month 2026! SciFi Month is a month long celebration of all things sci-fi and it's hosted by Lisa @ Dear Geek Place, Imyril @ There's Always Room For One More, Annemieke @ A Dance With Books, and Mayri @ Book Forager. You can also find it on Bluesky here and follow along with #SciFiMonth2026. This year will be my 10th year participating - a whole decade, wow! (Art credit: Art Credit

This month I'll still be doing my regular posts, but my Music Monday, Top Ten Tuesday, Books From The Backlog, and Friday Book Snippets will have a sci-fi twist. Also, be on the look out for sci-fi movie and tv reviews and maybe a few other special things this month. Who knows if I'll be able to get to many of these books, but I'll do my best, so read on for my potential sci-fi tbr for the coming month:
This Is the Year by Gloria Muñoz - I've been eyeing this at the library for quite awhile and I'll be reading it for my Book Riot's 2026 Read Harder Challenge.
Carl's Doomsday Scenario (Dungeon Crawler Carl #2) by Matt Dinniman - The first book was a lot of fun and I'm really looking forward to checking out the rest of the series.
Defiant (Skyward #4) by Brandon Sanderson - I've really gotten invested in this series and Im looking forward to reading book four for Book Riot's 2026 Read Harder Challenge this month.
The Destructives (The Seizure #3) by Matthew De Abaitua - I know this is the third book in a series, but I didn't know that when I got it. That said, it will be nice to check it off my Books From The Backlog shelf.
Detour (Detour #1) by Rob Hart and Jeff Rake - This sounds like it will be right up my alley and I've really enjoyed what I've read from Rob Hart before. I'm also reading this for my r/Fantasy 2026 Book Bingo Challenge.
Exiles by Mason Coile - A while back I won an ARC of this from Shannon @ It Starts At Midnight and these seems like a perfect time to jump into it.
Lines of Departure (Frontlines #2) by Marko Kloos - I hope to try book one, so maybe I'll get to book two as well. I got both of them at a thrift store and they both sound intriguing.
Moving Mars (Queen of Angels #3) by Greg Bear - I got this at a yard sale awhile ago and didn't know it was the third book in the series then. It still sounds like it could be good though.
Operation Bounce House by Matt Dinniman - This sounds like a ton of fun and I'm also reading it for my r/Fantasy 2026 Book Bingo Challenge. This month seems like a perfect time to read it to me.
The Photonic Effect by Mike Chen - This author is a must read for me and I'm looking forward to reading this for my r/Fantasy 2026 Book Bingo Challenge.
- The first book in this YA dystopian story and I'm looking to seeing what's next for my r/Fantasy 2026 Book Bingo Challenge.
A Star Named Vega by Benjamin J. Roberts - I picked this up at an antique shop a while back and it sounds like a good pick for this month. Plus, it'll be good to check it off my Books From The Backlog shelf.
Terms of Enlistment (Frontlines #1) by Marko Kloos - I think this will be a good series opener for November and great to get it off my Books From The Backlog shelf.
We Are Legion (We Are Bob) (Bobiverse #1) by Dennis E. Taylor - I've heard a lot of good things about this and Sci-Fi Month would be a good time to start on it.
Zoey Is Too Drunk for This Dystopia (Zoey Ashe #3) by Jason Pargin - The first two books were very entertaining and I have a feeling this one will be too. I'm also reading it for my r/Fantasy 2026 Book Bingo Challenge.
Are you participating in Sci-Fi Month this year? Have you read any of these books? Which one should I read first? As always, thanks very much for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
