Happy Tuesday everyone! Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday which is is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is Books On My Spring 2025 TBR. I'm featuring books I'm planning on reading for Book Riot's 2025 Read Harder Challenge from March through June and a couple of upcoming releases. Here we go in order by months:
March
Here by Richard McGuire - I saw the movie adaptation which was pretty ambitious and a decent slice of life across different time periods. I'd like to see what the original story looks like. It fulfills the task to read a wordless comic.
Night Life (Nocturne City #1) by Caitlin Kittredge - The 2015 task I've selected is to read a book written by someone when they were under the age of 25. This urban fantasy sounds series opener sounds like it has potential.
When the Moon Hits Your Eye by John Scalzi - This sounds like it will be awesome. It will be released on March 25th and we're getting so close!
April
The Twenty-One: The True Story of the Youth Who Sued the U.S. Government Over Climate Change by Elizabeth Rusch - I'm always on the lookout for YA nonfiction and this sounds like it will be a powerful read. This fulfills the task to read a nonfiction book about nature or the environment.
James by Percival Everett - I'm on hold for this on Libby and I'm currently #829 on 71 copies so hopefully it will be coming in around April. This will fulfill the task to read literary fiction by a BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and/or disabled author.
May
Immortal by Sue Lynn Tan - This is going to be released on January 7th. I'm really excited to read this one given how much I loved The Celestial Kingdom series. This will fulfill the task to read a 2025 release by a BIPOC author.
Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit (Moribito #1) by Nahoko Uehashi - This was recommended to me recently and I have to say this Japanese YA fantasy adventure sounds amazing. This will fulfill the task to read a book based solely on its setting.
June
Bianca Torres is Afraid of Everything by Justine Pucella Winans - This has been on my radar for quite awhile along with several books by this author. This YA mystery sounds right up my alley! This will fulfill the task to read a queer mystery.
In Deeper Waters by F.T. Lukens - This author's books just look like a lot of fun and this seems like a good place to start. This will fulfill the task to read a queernorm book.
Have you read any of these books? Are you taking part in this challenge? As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
21 and JAMES are both so good. Enjoy your reading.

DeleteNight Life looks fun. and wow I haven't read Saga in AGES
ReplyDeleteI'm dying for it but I'm so nervous. 🙂
DeleteNice line up of books. I hope you enjoy these.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Yvonne!
DeleteWow, that's a serious waiting list for JAMES! Everyone's talking about it, but I've yet to read it either. One of these days, hopefully. I hope you enjoy it and all these others.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
I'm slowly getting closer to it. Very slower....
DeleteI haven't heard of any of these (and I feel like usually I at least know some of the authors!), but some of those covers are certainly eye-catching and fun. :) Hope you enjoy all of these and thanks for visiting my list!
ReplyDeleteOh yes. Thanks for coming over, Rissi.
DeleteWhen the Moon Hits Your Eye is on my TBR too! His concepts always sound so unique!
ReplyDeleteExactly!
DeleteJames is a book I'd love to read. Wow, there are so many people waiting for it!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes!
DeleteGreat list, Lauren! I have seen James on so many lists that it's making me wonder what I'm missing out on, so that's going on the TBR as well. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised. 🙂
DeleteMoribito is brilliant - and I second any recommendations you got for it. There is a Japanese drama version too, which is spellbinding ... so so so good!
ReplyDeleteCool! I'll have to check out the drama as well.
DeleteI am so conflicted about reading the Saga series! I've read up to Vol. 10, I think, and I absolutely love them but they keep destroying me and I'm not sure I want to keep putting myself through that at the moment. I need some happy reads!

Well, I definitely know what you mean there! 😅
DeleteGood luck with your TBR! I need to continue with Saga. I stopped reading them for no reason. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Be ready for excellence but brutal reading!
DeleteI really need to get into Saga. I hope you enjoy all these when you get a chance to read them. Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteThe series is something else, but once you get into it you won't want to stop. ☺️
DeleteIn Deeper Waters was such a fun book! I hope you enjoy it. I'm also really looking forward to the new John Scalzi book. He always makes me laugh, and I can definitely use some lighter reads!
ReplyDeleteI feel that!
