Happy Saturday everyone! Today, I'm sharing my plans for Bookforager's Picture Prompt Book Bingo 2026. This year will be my first time participating in this challenge, but I've seen it around for quite awhile and it always looked like fun. My goal is to blackout the board. Keep reading to see what I hope to pick up for this challenge:
1. A teacup and a saucer
My choice: The Tea Dragon Society (Tea Dragon #1) by K. O'Neill - I've had this MG graphic novel on my radar for ages and it sounds nice.
2. A set of weighing scales
My choice: What If... Marc Spector Was Host to Venom? (Marvel's What If...? #3) by Mike Chen - I haven't read much of Moon Knight, but I absolutely loved the tv series with Oscar Isaac. I've also enjoyed the works of Mike Chen and I liked the Loki story in this book series. My reasoning for picking this is the weighing of the heart(s) on the scales of justice from the Moon Knight tv series. I'm really looking forward to seeing how Steven will be in this story.
3. A moth
My choice: Heartless Hunter (The Crimson Moth #1) by Kristen Ciccarelli - I thought of this one immediately for this prompt. I've heard a lot of good things about this romantasy series opener and I've just had it on my tbr for too long.
4. A hand holding some fanned out playing cards
My choice: Killer Instinct (The Naturals #2) by Jennifer Lynn Barnes - I really enjoyed the first book in this series back when I read it ages ago. I've been meaning to continue on with the series for way too long. Lucky for me that book two has a playing card by way of a target
5. A hot air balloon
My choice: Airborn (Matt Cruse #1) by Kenneth Oppel - I got this at a this thrift store a little while ago. It's a YA steampunk featuring an airship. It sounds like quite an adventure.
6. An acorn
My choice: Nightshade and Oak by Molly O'Neill - After reading Greenteeth, I can't wait to read this February 3rd release! Look at all the little acorns on the cover, too.
7. A human eye
My choice: Working Stiff (Dan Shamble, Zombie PI #5) by Kevin J. Anderson - This series has been so much fun and I can't wait to see what Dan Chambeaux, a zombie private eye, gets up to next! I just wish the cover art was as cool for this edition as some of the earlier installments in the series, even if he does look more like his description here. The in-universe reason for his look on the covers of the earlier books is pretty entertaining though.
8. A cooking pot hanging over a campfire
My choice: Showstopper by Lily Anderson - This YA horror is set at a theater summer camp. I've really liked what I've read from this author before, so I hope this is just as fun.
9. A griffin
My choice: The Gryphon King (The Chaos Constellation #1) by Sara Omer - I don't know about you, but this fantasy series opener sounds and looks like it will be amazing.
10. A large, old key
My choice: The Housemaid (The Housemaid #1) by Freida McFadden - I was hoping that my audiobook hold would have come in before I saw the movie adaptation, but that didn't happen. I'm still more than 100 down the waitlist, so at least I'm getting there. The movie was pretty good, so I hope the book will be even better. I have a feeling you can guess why I selected this book for this topic.
11. A hand holding a threaded needle
My choice: Such Wicked Intent (The Apprenticeship of Victor Frankenstein #2) by Kenneth Oppel - I really enjoyed book one and given how much I loved Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein (2025), it reminded me of how much I ought to finish this duology. If you couldn't guess, I picked this book since it's a retelling of Frankenstein and you know Victor builds the Creature from a variety of body parts.
12. An octopus
My choice: The Deadly Grimoire (Arkham Horror #16) by Rosemary Jones - I've loved a lot of the books in this historical fantasy horror series set in an alternate 1920s world inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos.
13. A plant being repotted
My choice: Garden of the Cursed (Garden of the Cursed #1) by Katy Rose Pool - This sounds really good and with garden in the title, features a location named Evergarden, and has flowers on the cover so it sounds like a good choice for this prompt.
14. A skull and crossbones
My choice: Coffin Moon by Keith Rosson - This sounds and looks like an excellent 1970s set vampire horror novel. It has quite the cool cover too which is totally the reason I've decided to select it for this prompt.
15. A decorative water fountain
My choice: Terrible Lizards (Doctor Who: Eleventh Doctor Adventures #6) by Jonathan Green - I do love Matt Smith's Eleventh Doctor. This story features the Fountain of Youth, and it's sets in the Everglades.
16. A pinch-clip purse
My choice: The Rage of Dragons (The Burning #1) by Evan Winters - I've heard a lot of great things about this series and I decide to pair it with this prompt because I usually associate dragons with hoarding gold.
Are you taking part in this challenge? Have you read any of these books? Which one should I try first? As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
