Happy Tuesday everyone! Today, I'm sharing my April update for Bookforager's Picture Prompt Book Bingo 2026. In April, I completed 4 out of 9 read so far of a total of 16 books on my tbr. Without further ado, keep reading to see my thoughts on the books I read in April for this challenge:
9. A griffin
❋ ❋ ❋ ❋
The Gryphon King (The Chaos Constellation #1) by Sara Omer is a fantasy series opener that I specifically decided to read for Bookforager's Picture Prompt Book Bingo 2026 to fulfill the gryphon prompt. I'm so glad I picked this one up because it was quite entertaining and well-written. The characters and the world, including the political intrigue, feel so real and three dimensional. I'll definitely be back for book two, The Harpy Knight.
My review is also on Goodreads and The StoryGraph.
12. An octopus
❋ ❋ ❋ ❋ ❋
The Deadly Grimoire (Arkham Horror #16) by Rosemary Jones is one of my favorites from this series and it's just absolutely delightful. I love that it combines combines Old Hollywood and biplanes with the world Arkham. I hope the characters here return again in future installments. I can't wait to read more of this series from this author.
My review is also on Goodreads and The StoryGraph.
3. A moth
❋ ❋ ❋
Why is Heartless Hunter (The Crimson Moth #1) by Kristen Ciccarelli marketed as YA? Why isn't there more vigilante stuff? I'm genuinely confused by the appeal of Gideon. I know this is romantasy, but I really struggled in buying into the romance with Rune and Gideon.
My review is also on Goodreads and The StoryGraph.
4. A hand holding some fanned out playing cards
Killer Instinct (The Naturals #2) by Jennifer Lynn Barnes was on my tbr for way too long given how much I liked book one. It's been years now since I read the first book, but I loved this sequel. I didn't feel out of the loop at all by my years long gap between installments. This time around it really reminded me of the tv series Prodigal Son, which I'm still upset was cancelled after only two seasons. Now, I'd better not wait so long before reading book three, All In.
My review is also on Goodreads and The StoryGraph.
Have you read these books? Are you taking part in this challenge? As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
