Happy Wednesday everyone! Today I'm sharing my fourth update for my April progress for the year long Read Queerly 2026 which is hosted by Alexx @ Enthralled Bookworm. In April, I completed 3 books for a total of 9 read so far out of 16 total books on my tbr. You can see my original tbr here. Keep reading to see my thoughts on the books I read this month:
13. Film reel icon: A queer book about a movie/movie stars/celebrities OR a queer book with a movie adaptation

The Price of Salt, or Carol by Patricia Highsmith is a slower paced novel, but it is absolutely worth sticking with. I had no idea what to expect with it at all, but it was better and much more hopeful in regards to the ending than I guessed it would be. You know, considering it was originally released in 1952 and everything. Also, since I finished reading it, I've had the chance to watch the 2015 movie adaptation and it does an excellent job of adapting the story. My review is also on Goodreads and The StoryGraph.
11. Latinx/Latine Author: A queer book written by a Latinx/Latine Author
❋ ❋ ❋
I wanted to like When the Moon Was Ours by Anna-Marie McLemore more, but it was just too much and overdone for my tastes. I felt like it was just pulling me out of the story too many times to really enjoy or appreciate it as much as I wish I did.My review is also on Goodreads and The StoryGraph.
7. Queer cast: A queer book with a queer cast (main characters/cast should be queer)
❋ ❋ ❋ ❋ ❋
To Be Taught, If Fortunate by Becky Chambers is a sci-fi novella I'd been putting off for some reason. I'm not quite sure why given how much I've loved her other works, but whatever the case I'm glad I got around to it now. Chambers is a favorite and I love how hopeful this is. Honestly, the sense of hope was greatly needed right now.My review is also on Goodreads and The StoryGraph.
Have you read any of these books? Are you taking part in this challenge? As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
