Summer of Horror 2026 - The Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings): Smoke and Shadows (Smoke Trilogy #1) Tanya Huff
On Friday's I take part in two weekly link ups - The Friday 56, currently hosted by Anne @ My Head Is Full of Books, and Book Beginnings, hosted by Rose City Reader. For The Friday 56, you choose a book, a book you have just finished, a book you are about to start, your current read, and share a line or a few lines that grab you (but don't spoil anything) from page 56 or 56% of the way through the ebook. Post it and share your post's url on Anne's most recent Friday 56 post. As for Book Beginnings, you share the first sentence or so and your initial thoughts, impressions, or whatever else it inspires, and then link up your post's url with Rose City Reader.
Happy Friday everyone! This week I'm spotlighting one of my Summer of Horror 2026 (hosted by Tammy @ Books, Bones & Buffy), Smoke and Shadows (Smoke Trilogy #1) Tanya Huff. I've really enjoyed the what I've read of the Vicki Nelson series and this spinoff featuring Henry Fitzroy and Tony Foster sounds pretty cool.
Leaning forward, brushing red-gold hair back off his face, he locked eyes with the cowering young woman and smiled, teeth too white within the sardonic curve of his mouth.
56:
"Just didn't get much sleep last night. All I have to do is hang on until lunch, then I can catch some zees on the couch in Raymond Dark's office."
What are you reading this week? Have you read this book? As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting below!

I'm not familiar with this series, but it does sound good😁

ReplyDeleteSounds like the afternoon was the same as the morning: lazy! Funny quote. The linky is back up, come on back and join in the conversation with other bloggers. https://headfullofbooks.blogspot.com/2026/06/review-this-land-is-your-land-friday56.html
