Music Monday: Jerry Douglas

Happy Monday everyone and welcome back to Music Monday! Let's share some songs we've been enjoying lately!  If you would like to play and I really hope you do, please see the rules and link up below.

Rules:

Every Monday share one or two of songs you've been enjoying lately.  It doesn't have to be a specific genre, new, or one of your favorites - just something you'd like to share with others.  If possible, share a music or lyric video of the song and your thoughts on the song(s), artist(s), and/or music video(s).

If you would like to participate in Music Monday, please join the link up at the bottom of this post by sharing your post's url.

Finally, have fun sharing and discovering new to you music!

"Dobro Heaven" by Jerry Douglas, Mike Auldridge, Rob Ickes (2014) - Each of these three men are masters of the dobro, or, resonator guitar.  Of course, when they get together they sound absolutely brilliant.

"Steel Guitar Rag" by Jeff Autry, feat. Wayne Benson, Aubrey Haynie, Scott Vestal, Mark Schatz, Rob Ickes, and Randy Kohrs (2005) - I know I've mentioned it before, but I love Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys - "Steel Guitar Rag" is one of my favorite instrumentals and it's hard to believe that Leon McAuliffe, the steel guitarist playing in the song, would have only been 19 when the song was released in 1936.  I was really excited when I heard this awesome bluegrass reworking of that classic western swing number on the radio.

I might have to join the link up this Monday around. I don't know why I never have? But it goes up today!
