Beat The Backlist 2024 - November Update

Happy Thursday everyone! Today I'm sharing my eleventh update for my November progress on the year long Beat The Backlist 2024 reading challenge, hosted by Austine Decker.  You can see my original tbr here.  In November, I completed 3 books for a total of 48 books completed out of 52 books on my tbr.  That's 4 books left!  Without further ado, keep reading to see my thoughts on the books I read in November:

❋

I wish I would have liked Fall; or Dodge in Hell (Crypto #3) by Neal Stephenson more. It starts off pretty well, but I quickly realized I didn't have the patience for nearly 900 pages of this book.  I'm really disappointed in myself given how much I've loved other books from Stephenson in the past.

My review is also on Goodreads.

❋ ❋ ❋

I haven't read any of the Erevis Cale books before this but Shadowbred (Forgotten Realms: The Twilight War #1) by Paul S. Kemp was still a lot of fun. It's been a long time since I've read a Forgotten Realms book. It really reminded me that I hope we get more movies after how much I loved Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.

My review is also on Goodreads.

 ❋ ❋ ❋

I picked up The First Crossing of Greenland by Fridtjof Nansen, a public domain reprint from the 1892 edition on a whim from a local used bookstore. I had no idea what to expect from it, was a fascinating read.  I definitely had both Nanook of the North and the first season of The Terror in the back of my mind while reading it.

My review is also on Goodreads.

Are you taking part in this challenge?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

  1. I have a hard time even picking up a book as long as Fall, but at least you tried😁
