Books From The Backlog - The Birth of a King by Deborah Marsh and Carol Marsh

Happy Thursday everyone! Welcome back to Books from the Backlog, the weekly linkup I'm taking part of which is hosted by Carole's Random Life in Books.  This is a great way to put a spotlight on books that I've had sitting on my shelf for awhile.  I don't know when I'll get to my weekly featured book, but I hope to some time hopefully soon.

This Week's Neglected Book

The Birth of a King (The Legends of Kinthoria #1) by Deborah Marsh and Carol Marsh

Published: March 10, 2010

Genre: Christian Epic Fantasy

My Copy:

Format: Paperback

Pages: 464

Where I Acquired It: That Friends of the Library Book Warehouse

Summary (From the back of the book since there isn't one on Goodreads):

In a daring attempt to save his life, Jaren was placed covertly in a scholar's hall and allowed to come of age under the noses of the Dragonmasters who were commanded by the evil tyrannical Emperor, Volant. The Dragonmasters had annihilated the royal house of Cathain, ravaged the lands of Kinthoria, and were especially brutal to the revered An'ilden, proud peacekeepers and followers of the true God of Kinthoria.

As the prophecy give to the dragon rider Nuallain is about to be fulfilled, Jaren and his friend Tanner are wrenched from the anonymity of Reeban, and forced into confronting a frightening and unfamiliar future.  With the guidance of Hawk, a scout sworn to protect Jaren, and his old friend Korthak, the foursome set out on a race against time and vengeance of Volant's dragon army. Throughout the journey, Jaren must come to accept that his destiny is to save Kinothoria.

Why Did I Add It?

I don't often read Christian fantasy, but this sounds like it has potential.  Plus, those three guys in the background look like they've been modeled after Legolas, Aragorn, and Boromir.

Have you read this thoughts or would you read it?  Would you recommend it to me?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
