The Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings): Ghosts of the Shadow Market (Ghosts of the Shadow Market #1-10) by Cassandra Clare + 50/50

On Friday's I take part in three weekly link ups - The Friday 56, hosted by Freda's Voice, Book Beginnings, hosted by Rose City Reader, and 50/50 Friday is a new weekly link up and it is hosted by Carrie @ The Butterfly Reader and Laura @ Blue Eye Books. For The Friday 56, you choose a book, a book you have just finished, a book you are about to start, your current read, and share a line or a few lines that grab you (but don't spoil anything) from page 56 or 56% of the way through the ebook. Post it and share your post's url on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post. As for Book Beginnings, you share the first sentence or so and your initial thoughts, impressions, or whatever else it inspires, and then link up your post's url with Rose City Reader. Then, for 50/50 Friday, every week there's a new topic featuring two sides of the same coin - you share a book that suits each category and link up on the hosts blogs.

Happy Friday everyone!  This week I'm spotlighting one of my current reads, Ghosts of the Shadow Market (Ghosts of the Shadow Market #1-10) by Cassandra Clare.  I'm addicted to the Shadowhunter world and I'm glad to be back with this collection of short stories.

Beginning:

The Shadow Market, London, 1901

The railway viaduct passed only a hairsbreath away from St. Saviour's Church.  [From "Cast Long Shadows" by Cassandra Clare and Sarah Rees Brennan]

56:

Across London the bells rang all together in a sudden terrifying clamor.  [From "Cast Long Shadows" by Cassandra Clare and Sarah Rees Brennan]

50/50 Friday: Favorite/ Least Favorite Sci-Fi of 2019

Favorite - The Grace Year by Kim Liggett - This one really impressed me. I'll have to read more of this author in the future.

Least favorite - The Return of the Incredible Exploding Man by Dave Hutchinson - I ended up DNF'ing it at 40%.  It just wasn't for me.

Have you read any of these books?  What are you reading this weekend?  What was your favorite read of this month?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

  3. I am so far behind with these books. I haven't finished TDA, I've only read Lady Midnight in that series and that was a while ago. And the last Shadowhunter book I read was Simon's.
