Magical Readathon: Orilium - Choose Your Own Adventure: Year In Aeldia 2025, The Boardgame - June Update

Happy Saturday everyone! Today I'm sharing my thoughts on the book I read in June for Choose Your Own Adventure: Year In Adelia, The Boardgame, an additional challenge to G. @ Book Roast's Magical Readathon.  You can see my full tbr here.  Without further ado, check out my mini review below:

The Wolf's Hour book cover
❋ ❋ ❋
The Wolf's Hour (Michael Gallatin #1) by Robert McCammon is one wild and action-packed ride. Before this I had never read anything from the author to know what to expect (definitely more graphic that I might have thought), but he kept me hanging on to every word. Think James Bond as a werewolf meets Mission: Impossible and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare and you'll have a good idea what this historical urban fantasy horror has in store for you. One thing that I liked more as it went on was the dual storyline of Michael (Mikhail) as a kid after his family has been killed and he has been turned into a werewolf which instead of being set during WWII starts off in 1918, at the end of WWI. Anyway, if you like werewolf stories, you can't miss this. I'll have to read more from this author in the future to see what I've been missing.

My review is also on Goodreads and The StoryGraph.

Next Month:

July - 7D Write notes (you travel on, writing down the stories of people you meet, places you see, creatures that approach you, sprites and spirits that show themselves to you. There is such a beautifully hidden world out here, in the deserts rarely disturbed. It’s transformative!) - read one of your 5 star prediction books, write a review of your experience and share it online or with a friend

Incidents Around the House book cover
My choice: Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman - I've heard a lot of great things about this and I'm excited to read his newer horror story.

Have you read this book and are you participating in this challenge?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
