  1. Glad to see Cinder and 'Jack the Ripper' on your list. I'm thinking I should prioritize the latter as we head into fall. Something tells me it'd be the ideal autumn read. ;D

  6. Was Illuminae hyped? I just remember there being piles of that book everywhere at BookCon, so I didn't think much of it. In fact, we left it on the shelf for a year or so, and then regretted waiting so long to read it. It is now one of my favorite series.

  20. Definitely agree with Illuminae and Lady Midnight, absolutely worth the hype! Childen of Blood and Bone has appeared on a lot of lists this week, I almost bought it yesterday but not entiretsure whether I’ll enjoy it, I guess I’ll just have to take everyone’s word for it! I also really need to buy The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue, I’m dying to read it!

  21. I agree with so many of these and others are on my TBR! Great list!

  22. Hell yes to Children of Blood and Bone. It is probably one of the best books of the year. The Cruel Prince is on my TBR too and I am currently reading Gentleman's Guide. I really hope it turns out good for me too :D

  25. I think I've finally decided to read The Martian. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on it and others.

  26. I've seen so many people mention Cinder by Marissa Meyer! I don't know why or how I let it slip through the cracks. I'll have to get to it eventually because it does sound like something I'd like :)

  27. I think reading Children of Blood and Bone so early in the year (I had an eARC from NetGalley and read it from late December to mid-January) ruined my reading year because it was so good and nothing else really matched up to it.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I haven't read a lot of these yet, but some are on my list. ;) Red Rising is definitely a book that lived up to the hype for me. Also, I'm currently reading Vicious, and it is fantastic! So that was a hype win as well. XD

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yay! Vicious was amazing - and I'm dying for the sequel. :)

  29. You picked some really good ones here! Most of them are on my TBR and can't wait to read them. And I loved seeing Cinder on your list. Definitely one of my faves =)

  30. I am SO ready for the last book in the Dark Artifices omg. Great list!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Several of these are on my TBR, and I'm hoping they live up to the hype for me, too! I've been putting them off to let some of the hype die down before I read them though, just in case. :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Great list. I loved Cinder but I think I read it before the hype (right after it came out) or at least I don't rember there being a big fuss about it back then. Alo I can't wait to start Children of blood and bone,it just recently arrived so I'm excited

  33. It's funny, I was just looking at Stalking Jack the Ripper at Barnes over the weekend. For the longest time I actually thought that it was written by James Patterson... not that it was his publishing company. lol I think this one needs to go on my TBR though!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Ahh so many of these books are on my TBR! I’m so glad to hear these all lived up to their hype for you. I’m hoping to read Stalking Jack the Ripper soon. I think it looks like the perfect spooky, autumn read. ☺️🍁

  36. I completely agree with you when it comes to Illuminae, Cinder, and The Martian. But, in keeping with the tradition of TTT controversy, I don't agree about Dark Matter! For something reason I just couldn't get myself to care about the novel. It was far too outrageous for me.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Ok, it was kind of outrageous - I'll give you that one. I did listen to it on audiobook and the narrator was really, really good so that's definitely a bit of mine. :)

  37. Ohh, yes!! I agree with quite a few books on your list, especially The Cruel Prince! I can't wait to read the second book in that series :)
