Nevermore-athon - Announcement & TBR

Happy Sunday everyone! Today, I'm sharing my announcement and tbr for the Nevermore-athon which will run all of August and is hosted by Chaos in Bookland with co-hosts amy from ‪@AmyMcCaw‬, Barbora from ‪@bookworm.wander‬, judith from ‪@judithcakelover‬, and Elena from @they_read_and_spin.  As a fan of Netflix's Wednesday (and I'm really looking forward to season 2), this readathon caught my eye and I thought I'd give it a try.  This round (my first) we're competing in the Poe Cup.  There are five teams to choose from and I've decided to join the Black Cats.  Each team has a bingo board.  You get 25 points per prompt you complete and 100 points per row completed.  There is also an overall group book and a team book.  I'm aiming to complete the overall group book, team book, and one row of four prompts.  Keep reading to see what I'm planning on reading for this challenge:

Overall Group Book

My Darling Dreadful Thing by Johanna van Veen - This horror novel was already on my radar so I'm glad this will give me an excuse to finally try it.

Team Book

Mina and the Undead (Mina and the Undead #1) by Amy McCaw - I've been meaning to try this YA vampire horror story for awhile now.  It sounds right up my alley.

Book in a series

My choice: Vienna Blood (Liebermann Papers #2) by Frank Tallis - I loved book one and can't wait to continue this series.  I really want to try the tv adaptation soon too.

Cat book

My choice: Babylonia by Constanza Casati - Clytemnestra was pretty great and this sounds quite intriguing too.

Book with competition

My choice: The Midnight Game by Cynthia Murphy - This YA horror thriller sounds pretty tempting.  Plus, it will be my first book by this author.

Popular book

My choice: The God of the Woods by Liz Moore - I picked this up at a thrift store after being told that I need to try it.  I've heard a lot of good things about this mystery thriller, so I hope I'll enjoy it too.

Are you planning on participating in this readathon?  Have you read any of these books?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
