The Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings): Ghost Station by S.A. Barnes

On Friday's I take part in two weekly link ups - The Friday 56, currently hosted by Anne @ My Head Is Full of Books, and Book Beginnings, hosted by Rose City Reader.  For The Friday 56, you choose a book, a book you have just finished, a book you are about to start, your current read, and share a line or a few lines that grab you (but don't spoil anything) from page 56 or 56% of the way through the ebook. Post it and share your post's url on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post. As for Book Beginnings, you share the first sentence or so and your initial thoughts, impressions, or whatever else it inspires, and then link up your post's url with Rose City Reader.

Happy Friday everyone!  This week I'm spotlighting one of my Halloween Reads 2025 books, Ghost Station by S.A. Barnes  I've been putting this one off for far too long and this seems like the perfect time to read this space horror novel.

Beginning:

Nova Cold Sleep Solutions - Personnel Division
New Chicago
Earth, 2199

The protestors outside are getting louder.  Their chants are still faint, but somehow clearer than before.  Or maybe that's just Ophelia's guilty conscience.

56:

His tone is matter-of-fact, but that doesn't prevent a shiver from creeping along Ophelia's skin.  Isolated on a dead planet and trapped with strangers by storms.

Have you read this book?  What are you reading for the spooky season?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting below!

  1. Oh, this sounds really creepy. Definitely my cup of tea! Also, I like the cover. It's not exactly the same, nor is it as good, but it is faintly reminiscent of my favourite digital artist, Yuumei.

(sorry for the deleted comment, but I forgot to click notify me, and don't know how to edit, so I just reposted so I can see any replies)
