Happy Sunday everyone! Today I'm sharing my plans for the March 2026 Bingo Round of the Trope-ical Readathon which is hosted by Jenjenreviews. It will run the entire month of March and as usual I'm joining Team Fantasy this time around. This time around we've got unique bingo boards to complete that are based around your choice of team. There are 25 squares with different prompts in each, and I've made a full tbr for it. You can follow along on BlueSky and Discord, if you like. I hope to earn a full blackout bingo, but who knows how many I'll be able to get to. Keep reading to see the books on my tbr for this round:
B
Dark Academia
My choice: Katabasis by R.F. Kuang - I'm also reading this for my 2026 Popsugar Reading Challenge. I'm really looking forward to this one.
Mental Health
My choice: Challenger Deep by Neal Shusterman - This has been on my tbr for so long and I've heard nothing but good things about it.
Outbreak
My choice: A Skinful of Shadows by Frances Hardinge - In this case, this YA historical fantasy features an outbreak of war.
Celebrity
My choice: The Dark Sleep (Vampire Files #8) by P.N. Elrod - Even though it's eight books into it's series and I haven't read the other books, I'd still like to try this one. The celebrity is a famous radio star.
Love Triangle
My choice: Death Blows (The Bloodhound Files #2) by D.D. Barant - I know this is a sequel and I haven't read the first book, but I picked this up at a thrift shop awhile ago and even featured it in my Books From the Backlog just a little bit ago. Maybe if I like this I'll go back to book one.
I
Bookish
My choice: The Clockwork Scarab (Stoker & Holmes #1) by Colleen Gleason - Bookish as in the main characters are the sister of Bram Stoker and niece of Sherlock Holmes. This should be fun!
Food Themes
My choice: A Curse of Roses by Diana Pinguicha - I've been eyeing this at the library for quite some time now. A character's magic/ curse turns food to flowers, and hopes to figure out a way to reverse that magic.
Holiday (Calendar)
My choice: Sherlock Holmes & the Christmas Demon (James Lovegrove's Sherlock Holmes) by James Lovegrove - I've really enjoyed another SH book from this author and I hope this one will be fun too.
Climate Change
My choice: Down Came the Rain by Jennifer Mathieu - I really appreciated Moxie and I've been meaning to read more from this author since then.
Retelling
My choice: A Study in Silks (The Baskerville Affair #1) by Emma Jane Holloway - This might be more steampunk spinoff, but I just get a kick out of Sherlock Holmes related stories.
N
Time Travel
My choice: Timeslip (Time Tunnel Adventure #2) by Murray Leinster - Have I ever mentioned how much I love the classic sci-fi show The Time Tunnel? If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it if you're a fan of Timeless or Quantum Leap (the original or the sequel series). I just wish it had more than one season (and 30 episodes). I couldn't believe it when I found this tie-in book at an antique shop for a couple of bucks two weeks ago! I had no idea there even were books before I spotted it.
Anonymous Messaging
My choice: Famous Last Words by Gillian McAllister - This one has been recommended to me several times and I've finally decided that I should check it out from the library,
Free Space!
My choice: The 13th Witch (The King's Watch #1) by Mark Hayden - I was given the first eight books in this series recently, so it's time to get started on it.
Fake Dating
My choice: Dungeons and Drama (Gaming and Romance #1) by Kristy Boyce - I've heard a lot of great things about this one and I'd like to see what it's all about. Plus, Kristy Boyce is a local Ohio author, so that's pretty cool.
Space
My choice: Terms of Enlistment (Frontlines #1) by Marko Klo - I've heard this compared to John Scalzi and I like his style quite a bit.
G
Powerful Artifact
My choice: Kingdom of the Grail by Judith Tarr - I bet you can't guess what the artifact is!
Second Chance Romance
My choice: Opposite of Always by Justin A. Reynolds - I've had this recommended to me before as well and I would like to try it. Also, the author is from my home state of Ohio.
Enemies-To-Lovers
My choice: The Assassin's Blade (Throne of Glass #0.1-0.5) by Sarah J. Maas - I'm also reading this for The 52 Book Club's 2026 Reading Challenge.
Absent/ Dead Parents
My choice: Seven Deadly Shadows by Courtney Alameda and Valynne E. Maetani - I've been meaning to read this for so long now!
Vacation
My choice: A Very Woodsy Murder (Golden Motel Mystery #1) by Ellen Byron - I've heard a lot of mixed things about this, but it's also been recommended to me several times. I'll have to give it a try.
O
Multiple POV
My choice: Old Country by Matt Query & Harrison Query - This just sounds like it will be right up my alley!
Dystopia
My choice: The Last Murder at the End of the World by Stuart Turton - This sounds really interesting and I've liked what I've read from this author in the past.
Reunion
My choice: The Three Lives of Alix St. Pierre by Natasha Lester - Unexpected World War II spies have always been interesting to me.
Workplace Romance
My choice: Recommended For You by Laura Silverman - This one has been to me by a few people in the past, so I'll give it a chance. It's set in a bookstore, so that's a plus.
Quest
My choice: Faces of Deception (Forgotten Realms: Lost Empires #2) by Troy Denning - Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves reminded me of how much I liked spending time in this world in past, so I'd like to read more Forgotten Realms books. It's been too long.
Are you participating in this round of the Trope-ical Readathon? Have you read any of these books? As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
