Happy Saturday everyone! It's finally that time to start my Spring Equinox 2026 classes at Orilium for the Magical Readathon, hosted by G. @ Book Roast. For the Autumn Equinox 2025, I was able to finally complete my course of study for the Calling of a Scribe. This equinox G has created an option for post graduate studies in your callings which is really impressive, but I've decided to just pick a whole new Calling to study for this go around. I don't know about you, but the Calling of a Moon Warden sounds pretty cool. Anyway, as usual, this Spring Equinox runs all of April. This semester I'll be taking five courses: Elemental Studies, Astronomy, Art of Illusion, Restoration, and Spells & Incantations. To complete each course I'll need to read one book to fulfill a specific prompt. Keep reading to see what I plan on reading to complete my course of study for this semester:
Elemental Studies - Course Focus: Temperature Controls - Temperature word in the title
My choice: The Burn Zone (Haan #1) by James K. Decker - I picked up this dystopian sci-fi action series opener at a thrift store recently. It sounds like it has potential even if I've seen some mixed reviews of it.
Astronomy - Course Focus: Galactic Outskirts - Top shelf (physically or top of your tbr)
My choice: Vicious Circle (Persephone Alcmedi #1) by Linda Robertson - I'm always on the lookout for an urban fantasy and this series opener might be fun. I featured this book on my Books From The Backlog, so it will be good to check it off my list.
Art of Illusion - Course Focus: Alternate Illusions - Unusual formatting
My choice: Stranger Things: Heroes & Monsters by Rana Tahir - This is a Choose Your Own Adventure! It's been ages since I've read one of those and I'm a big fan of Stranger Things, so I'm looking forward to this one.
Restoration - Course Focus: Restorative Adoration - Ask for 5 (5 star) titles, pick one
My choice: All That's Left in the World (All That's Left in the World #1) by Erik J. Brown - I'd read 3 of the 5 books recommended to me. As it turns out, my library has a copy of this book and I've been eyeing it for awhile.
Spells & Incantations - Course Focus: In-Fashion Spells & Incantations - Currently on a best seller list
My choice: Beth Is Dead by Katie Bernet - This is on the NYT Best Seller list now and I've been dying to read this one. This sounds like an awesome retelling of a classic.
Are you taking part in this readathon? Have you read any of these books? Which one should I start with? As always, thanks for visiting and perhaps even commenting down below!
