Always Me

I spotted this cool tag over on Books For Thought and immediately new that I had to take part!   The YA Book Traveler created this tag to go along with the Rock My TBR Reading Challenge (which I'm not taking part in), but luckily for me and anyone else who would like to take part the tag is open to anyone.  Each book I'm including on this list are those that I already own and hope to read this year. 1. He quickly discovers that his father has died, the family mine has ceased operation, his home has been overrun by livestock and their old drunken servants, and, worst of all, Elizabeth has gotten engaged to his cousin, Francis. Ross will have to begin his life anew. The main reason I wanted to begin Winston Graham's Poldark Saga was because I really enjoyed watching the 2015 adaptation of the first two books in the series starring Aidan Turner as titular character. Almost as soon as I began watching I put my name on the hold list at my local library for the first book. I didn't get my hands on a copy for about four months, but I was glad I waited for it. This historical fiction novel is incredibly engaging. Graham does a brilliant job of describing Poldark's beautiful Cornwall. It's also easy to get hooked on his well-defi...

❋  ❋  ❋  ❋ Volume 2 continues the story of the new Thor in issues six through eight. Odin continues to use his brother to determine her identity. There are quite a few good cameos, even Coulson briefly appears. The Odinson tries to work through his list of candidates, only to realize he has been unsuccessful in determining the identity of the new Thor. By the end of the final issue, he still doesn't know her true identity, but the reader does. I had already been spoiled, but it was definitely interesting to see it play out. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the new Thor. This volume also includes the Annual #1 which includes three shorts featuring King Thor (distant future), Thor (current goddess), and Young Thor (distant past). Current Thor has the most interesting segment as she interacts with the Warriors Three. It's also written by Nimona's Noelle Stevenson. She has no experience, equipment, training, or skills whatsoever, but that doesn't seem to matter as she's willing to take on anything that will line her pockets with some much needed cash. She takes on high stakes bail jumper Joe Morelli, a vice cop wanted for murder. Morelli is also her ex and she knows he means trouble. I've heard so much about this series over the years, and quite a bit about it recently, especially the sense of humor. Finally, I decided to try the first novel out in audiobook form. I didn't really know what to expect from it, but I liked it more than I expected to and had some fun listening. Lori Petty did a fine job of bringing Evanovich's cast to life.
