The Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings): Library of Souls (Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children #3) by Ransom Riggs

Welcome to The Friday 56, a weekly meme hosted by Freda's Voice.

These are the rules:
1. Grab a book, any book.
2. Turn to page 56, or 56% on your eReader.
3. Find any sentence (or a few, just don't spoil it) that grabs you.
4. Post it.
5. Add the URL to your post in the link on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post.

I'm also taking part in Book Beginnings, a weekly meme hosted by Rose City Reader.  The rules are pretty simple - you share the first sentence or so and your initial thoughts, impressions, or whatever else it inspires.  Don't forget to link up your post's url with Rose City Reader.

This week I'm spotlighting my current read, Library of Souls (Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children #3) by Ransom Riggs.  I'm only on page 35 right now, but I'm so excited after having devoured the first two installments!  I can't wait to see how it all ends!  It takes off with a bang almost immediately where Hollow City left off.

Book Beginning:

The monster stood not a tongue's length away, eyes fixed on our throats, shriveled brain crowded with fantasies of murder.

56:

[This is actually pages 56 and 57, but I enjoyed both pictures so much I thought I would share both the 56 and 57 with you.  As you can imagine, I really want to know what's going on here!  If you can't make out the text - on page 56 the ticket reads: Since 1693, Sharon's River Tours, See...Viking Siege Engines!  Famine N' Flame!  Devil's Acre, Smoking Street, Fever Ditch, and more, Only One gold piece.  And, the caption on page 57 reads: Another satisfied customer!]

  6. LOVE "tongue's length away." What a great way to describe how close the monster is. This series is on my radar, but I haven't read any of the books yet. It'll happen eventually!
Thank you for visiting my blog today.

  7. I had the first book in the series on my TBR mountain for quite a while but ending up donating it unread. I never even opened a page. Something about it made me reluctant to try it. I'm glad you are enjoying the series. I have a fairy tale this week - The Amaranth Enchantment by Julie Berry. Happy reading!
