The Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings): Queen of Air and Darkness (The Dark Artifices #3) by Cassandra Clare + 50/50 Friday

On Friday's I take part in three weekly link ups - The Friday 56, hosted by Freda's Voice, Book Beginnings, hosted by Rose City Reader, and 50/50 Friday is a new weekly link up and it is hosted by Carrie @ The Butterfly Reader and Laura @ Blue Eye Books. For The Friday 56, you choose a book, a book you have just finished, a book you are about to start, your current read, and share a line or a few lines that grab you (but don't spoil anything) from page 56 or 56% of the way through the ebook. Post it and share your post's url on Freda's most recent Friday 56 post. As for Book Beginnings, you share the first sentence or so and your initial thoughts, impressions, or whatever else it inspires, and then link up your post's url with Rose City Reader. Then, for 50/50 Friday, every week there's a new topic featuring two sides of the same coin - you share a book that suits each category and link up on the hosts blogs.

Happy Friday and welcome to the first Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings) + 50/50 Friday of 2020!  This week I'm spotlighting one of my current reads, Queen of Air and Darkness (The Dark Artifices #3) by Cassandra Clare.  I've been putting this series finale on hold for so long, but I'm glad (and terrified) to finally see how it all ends.  Plus, I'll be reading more Shadowhunters book very soon for my reading challenges, so it'll be great to be back in the world to prepare myself for more.

Beginning:

There was blood on the Council dais, blood on the steps, blood on the walls and the floor and the shattered remnants of the Mortal Sword.

56:

Dru jammed the heels of her hands into her eyes.  Aline put an arm around her.  Julian looked for Ty.  He couldn't stop himself.

50/50 Friday: Best/ Worst Read of January 2020

Best - Call Down the Hawk (Dreamer Trilogy #1) by Maggie Stiefvater - I read a lot of great books this month, but this one takes the cake and I'm not one bit surprised.

Worst - Gingerbread by Helen Oyeymi - I wanted to like this, but I ended up losing interest and DNF'd it at 27%.

What are you reading this weekend?  Have you read any of these books?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!

  1. I've still only read Lady Midnight. I kept meaning to continue/finish this series I just haven't really felt motivated to. Maybe that can be a goal this year, I still like Shadowhunters, and the other series' I've read.
